“New” jerseys

As you probably already know, the Kings will take the ice Saturday wearing special purple-and-gold vintage jerseys to help commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Vancouver Canucks joining the NHL. The Canucks played their first-ever game against the Kings on Oct. 9, 1970, a 3-1 Kings win in which they got two goals from Bob Berry, one from Ross Lonsberry and 24 saves from Denis Dejordy.

The Kings will also wear the vintage uniforms during three home games this season, with those dates yet to be announced. To get a look at the uniforms, click below. Jarret Stoll and Ryan Smyth show them off, and there are also a few shots of players practicing with the helmets, gloves and pads that they will wear Saturday.
