Whoo! One down, 4 to go!!!!
[Reply]
Busy day for DL!
[Reply]
BOOOM! That’s One!
[Reply]
NICE!!
[Reply]
Interesting…that means they’re carrying both Quick and Bernier for at least three seasons (unless, of course, they trade one.)

@What’s the frequency, Kenneth?,
This is Step #1 towards fulfilling my prediction that the Kings will hold onto Quick and Bernier for as long as they possibly can, to get as good a look as they can at both before they have to decide between one or the other for the long term. I’m thinking one or the other will be traded in the summer of 2012, unless one proves conclusively that he is a bust before then, or Zatkoff has a mad-crazy unexpected breakout.
And even then, I don’t think DL will want to get rid of one or the other. The issue will simply be that it will be too expensive to keep both after their current contracts expire.

Good Job DL, I just wish it was longer.
Let’s get the others signed to extensions now and our future will look great.
Kovi who?
[Reply]
wow! nice!
[Reply]
Good job Deano. Now the only question is how much.
[Reply]
So will he become a UFA or still an RFA after the 2 year extension?

@jayhay,
RFA, he’ll be 24 and have less than 6 years of NHL experience.
[Reply]
Yes, better to do it now. Good chance if they waited till spring, Bernier’s price might have gone up a little.
[Reply]
Oh wow. That’s good news. I would have expected dd jj to get done first but way to go
[Reply]
Off-topic but I found it interesting that Capgeek.com has both Clifford and Loktionov on the kings roster and Schenn on non-roster players. Do they know something or they just assuming?

Jonathan Bernier’s new deal–975,000 and 1.525,000.
A few million in cap hit for both Bernier and Quick. Not bad, Dean, not bad at all.
