Three games, three goalies

So far, there hasn’t been much competition between Jonathan Bernier and Erik Ersberg, because Ersberg hasn’t been able to compete. Bernier has started two games and played five periods, while Ersberg (who injured his hand last week) has been able to do nothing but practice.

That won’t change Tuesday, as Terry Murray said that No. 1 goalie Jonathan Quick will start and play the entire game. Murray also said that Quick will play in one of the two remaining preseason games — the Kings play Colorado on Saturday in Las Vegas and play at Anaheim on Sunday — and that he hadn’t decided if Bernier or Ersberg would start the other game.

“He will probably end up with two out of the three (remaining) games,” Murray said of Quick. “He’s the starting goaltender for us, and I want to give him the opportunity to get himself ready, and I think two games will do that. Then I have to make the decision on the third (game).”

Bernier allowed two goals in two periods in his first game (Wednesday at Colorado), then started Thursday at Phoenix and had two shutout periods.

A reminder that tomorrow night’s game will be streamed live on LAKings.com, and it will include an audio feed of Nick Nickson and Daryl Evans calling the action. I’m told, though, that the game is only viewable for those within the Fox Sports West coverage area.
