Bob Miller Forever.
Hey Rich,
Are you aware of the 6’4 Toronto D prospect calling himself Juraj Mikus? Bizzaro Mikus, if you will.

You are about 1 year too late. Old news.

Was at the game last night. Here are a few observations:
1. I know this is going to sound really gay, but Willie Mitchell has an enormous stick. It’s like everyone else is playing with a hockey stick and he is playing with a boat oar.
2. Still hate the guy who does halftime at Staples. The guy next to me asked if he was Ryan Seacrest’s brother.
3. I know there is major man-love out there for JMFJ, DD, and Simmonds, but I would argue that the most popular player on the Kings right now is Clune. I don’t think any player makes more of his time on ice than Clune does.
4. Can we please get rid of the stupid t-shirt cannons? They are as annoying as beach balls are at Dodger Stadium.
5. Oscar Moeller looks like he should be interning with the Kings organization instead of playing for them.

@Katy Perry,
Very strange observations.

@Katy Perry, I was at the game as well and I’m not so sure that I agree with you.
1. Was was to busy watching Willie play to focus on his stick
2. The halftime guys is really annoying and likes to over-pronouns S.
3. Gotta give Clune lots o love, but more popular than DD, JFMJ and Simmer, yeah no !!
4. I have no beef with the cannon they just never trow or shoot one in the 205 section were I sit.
5. I think Oscar had a strong game last night, and he has gotten bigger. Don’t think he was knocked off the puck one time. Maybe you should go intern for the Kings. I know I would

im new to this forum but as a diehard kings fan ive found my home. i keep seeing JMFJ on here and i have a good idea as to what it stands for due to process of elimination, but i wouldnt mind a little clarification… and on a side note- i hope oscar makes the squad, i enjoyed watching him play and im excited to hear he put on some weight.

@dan, Yes, it does stand for what you think. It was a nickname given to him at the University of Michigan by fans as he did unbelievable things on the ice. He was also a bruiser that got into fights and thru monster checks. It makes sense now that it was College Kids that gave the nickname right?

@luc20rules,
hey thanks luc, thats what i was guessing. and what a fitting nicname it is. when i was playing juniors the only nicname i ever got was from the other teams fans and it was ‘tool’ (even tho i won most of my fights, wtf?)

@luc20rules,
And if you ever watched “Before The Bigs” on JJ, you’ll know that he has a little brother and their parents told the kid that JMFJ stood for Jack “My Friend” Johnson.
I guess the point is that when JJ was flattening other collegiates he was just going out of his way to be friendly.
Sorry Bob, you are never allowed to retire.

I too hate the guy who does “halftime” at staples. Then again I hate people who think hockey has a halftime. So maybe i’m just a hateful guy.

@ian, There is a half time in hockey, its called the 10 minute mark of the 2nd period.
[Reply]
Haha. I didn’t realize they stop play at the 10:00 mark so this flamboyant guy can embarrass our organization. Don’t worry. You can get away with saying the puck is a ball as long as you want that guy gone as much as I do. Let the booing begin.

@Ian, Well if you have ever watched a game it does sometimes happen that there is a stoppage of play at the 10 min mark of the 2nd, sometimes its even called a time out. For the ball reference I would only use that in conjunction with Dan Cloutier.
And I do really agree with you that the guy needs to go !!!! More ice girls less ice goobers.

Funny story. Last night we saw Bob sitting in the press box with (I think) his wife and some other people, maybe this reporter.
An ad comes up for Lawrence Welk Resorts. My wife looks around and says, “Do they know their demographic? Who around here is the age to like Lawrence Welk? Except Bob.”
I was all over her for dissing Bob, but it WAS funny, because she said it so innocently.

“Half Time”??? There is no such thing in hockey. But yeah, the between period dude is kinda lame.
Clune is not anywhere near as popular as DD, JMFJ, or Simmonds.
Back to the between periods…”show” I could give a rat’s ***, about the T-Shirt Cannon. I don’t understand the need for the constant barrage of “entertainment” BS. I don’t need to be entertained between periods…I go to the hockey game for the game itself, not the between period BS.
Maybe i’m too “old school”, but between periods is for making a run for the restroom, buying overpriced food & beverage, buying stuff, and most importantly talking hockey with other fans

@Kingsfan19,
Yeah I know it’s L.A. And it’s politically correct to be metrosexual but that guy is terrible and I wince to think what the people in Detroit or Chicago say about our intermission studs. Am I wrong or is there an “Ice Guy” on the ice squad this season too?

Guess I’m old fashion, but I get peved with Bob’s thread gets hyjacked.
Thank you Bob for all the enjoyment you’ve given the King’s fans over the years. More than just a few of us had given you our prayers for a speedy recovery.
I’m an old timer myself and remember thinking that no one could ever replace your good friend Jigs McDonald, but low and behold you did it in the biggest way possible. (still love and miss Jigs though)
Enjoyed your book and my wife enjoyed chatting with you when you signed it (nice xmas gift from my wife). I hope some day you come out with a 2nd addition that includes the year the King’s win the cup.
Thank you again Bob for all you do and keep Foxy in line.
Ken
