@Oz, No offense Kings fans, but Teubert is brutal. Was a bad defenseman in junior with poor skating, poor decision-making and a hot head. He has no shot of ever making the NHL.

No Forbort either?

@Naturallawyer,
Forbort, like all NCAA players, cannot attend pro camps. The summer session is an exception, if the pay their own way. Forbort will go to North Dakota.

@Purple Ghost: OK, I didn’t know that (though it makes sense given NCAA rules in other sports). Thanks for passing that along.

What a bright future we have here in LA! How about mandating they get their tattoos on their butts before camp breaks?

Anyone:
What do you think Dean is looking for in this group?
A shifty scorer like loktionov or a thug/powerforward that can create havoc in the corners. Of course we are looking for one defenseman, but on the forward side what do you think?

@kelly,
I hope DL is looking for both a power forward type (Clifford or King) and a tough stay-at-home D-man. Besides Teubert, why aren’t there any tough D-men in the Kings pipeline????????

@AK47,
Actually i saw Etem play at the ducks prospect camp..and wasnt impressed at all. He was really fast, but didnt do anything except get crunched by clark (twice).
Granted it was 1 showing…but he didnt look like anything great. I mean sexton looked 10 times better than etem.

Wudrick is no longer in the organization. He was unsigned and went back into the draft this year and was not re-drafted. Kitsyn is still under contract to his KHL team. The hope, on both ends, is that he’s able to join his junior team in North America sometime this season.

Wudrick is going to the Coyotes camp on a tryout basis. I was wondering if we’d see him in the rookie games.

He went undrafted this season. Why did 30 teams in 7 rounds pass him by?

@Bossy22,
Muzzin went undrafted upon re-entry! 30 teams including LAKings in 7 rounds passed him by, but now that we signed him, and are high on him, 29 teams look like they got egged.
Kaunisto, Elkins fit our need.
Wudrick may have a higher scoring upside, younger and could develope into 2nd or 3rd liner. Point being, who’s going to line up with the Kozuns,Weals,Roes,Azevedos,Loki & Moller. Pelech???? Mikus????
Cameron was not in our needs
Wudrick is……Maybe his diet was a factor?

didn’t see Jeff Zatkoff’s name, who had a good year at Manchester, and has had outstanding stats at every level….6’2″ 170, 23 yrs old….
“Jonathan Bernier has been tagged by every media outlet in Los Angeles as the Kings’ future franchise goaltender. How do you think that makes someone like Jeff Zatkoff feel?
“I just try to worry about myself,” said Zatkoff, goaltender for the Manchester Monarchs of the American League. “I know that if I take care of my business, work hard and play well, then I’m going to get my opportunities, whether it’s with the Kings organization or someone else down the road.”
Franchise goaltender or not, Zatkoff has been turning heads in the hockey world with his play ever since he was drafted in the third round (74th overall) by the Kings in the 2006.”"

I think they consider Zatkoff “graduated” as far as the rookie camp goes. We have seen this before with other up and comers.

http://www.mississauga.com/sports/article/867494–trades-rule-majors-camp-opening
Per this article “Mississauga’s other import selection, Maxim Kitsyn, 18, of Russia, is attending camp with the NHL’s Los Angeles King, who chose him in the sixth round of the NHL entry draft in June.”
Kings may not have put him on the list because of possible immigration / border issues or he may only be coming to the main camp. (or the article could be wrong and he is remaining in Russia until after the world juniors in December).
Any confirmation Rich?

I noticed Joe Piskula is not listed, kings prospects or Manchester, what’s up? All we heard about was Muzzin and the return of Hickey during Manchesters playoff run, Piskula had an incredible post season.
Also Martin Nolet has finished college, are the King’s also finished with him?

@Bossy22,
“Nolet will return to UMass in the fall. As a physical stay at home defenseman, what you already see is likely to be what you get from Nolet. He might be slated to fill the role of a Joe Piskula or Drew Bagnall is the organization fails to sign either in the offseason.”
Bagnall will likely return to Manchester as a career AHL player…Kings didn’t sign him..

I guess my point is, we have a great young group of puck movers both small and lean. If or when any of our stay at home big bodies go down with an Upper or Lower, who’s there on our depth chart? Who are we developing to fit that need?

Nolet is listed as graduated on UMass website,
Bagnall signed elsewhere, not sure where?
Piskula somewhere in limbo, +10
Is Campbell the guy to step into that role? -21
