Shattered glass

As the Kings wait to hear about Willie Mitchell’s plans for the season — what is it about guys who seemingly can’t decide where to sign this summer? — there’s one member of the organization who got an up-close and personal look at the defenseman the Kings would like to sign. This story in 24 Hours Vancouver tells (and shows) how Mitchell fired a shot behind goalie prospect Martin Jones and shattered the glass. Mitchell and Jones are apparently part of a group working out at the University of British Columbia, similar to the way that Southern California-based players regularly work out in El Segundo. As for his future, Mitchell offered, “We’re in the middle of that stuff right now…” The middle?
