One more day (at least)

In response an inquiry about the possibility of anything happening tonight, in terms of a resolution to the Ilya Kovalchuk situation, Dean Lombardi responded with, “Nothing – have a nice evening.” How polite! So as the Kings mull over a counter-offer from the Kovalchuk camp, we’ll wait another day. If the Kings counter the counter, it would be at least their third offer to Kovalchuk since the start of the free-agent period. Meanwhile, there’s been no reaction from Kovalchuk’s agent or the Devils, so it’s still hard to say how many horses are still in this race.
