Camp photos

A reader named Chasen passed along these great photos he has taken during the last two days of development camp in El Segundo. I’m hoping, shortly, to talk to Kings player-development guru Nelson Emerson, and get his thoughts on the camp, but for now, check out the photos…

    Day 2 of me officially getting no work done.

    The big drag out has totally killed the fun buzz with Kovi.

    Even if he signs now I feel like I’m gonna be all “whatever”.

    @Matt George,

    Let him go where ? there isnt really another team that’s in this anymore.. the longer we wait with him.. the lower the asking price should drop… it’s just a matter of time

    Hey Kovy, enjoy your bleak, freezing, grey, brutal winters. Kopi and the boys will enjoy mild weather, hot chicks, and relevance.

    If the Kovy deal does not pan out, DL should go after Ryan from the Quaks… With Nabby and Turco available, I can see him dealing Quick or Bernier for Ryan.

    brandyn Reply:

    @KellyHrudey,

    Ryan’s a right winger though.. We have Williams, Simmonds, Brown, and Moller… we need LW

    If Kovi is truly asking 10 mil 10 yr, obviously don’t sign him for that. I think they’re playing hardball. However, this will definitely be a bad FA year for us, because I’m sure we would have strongly gone after some of the FA class had we not been waiting for Kovy. I still feel we will work something out, around 8-8.5 a year (which is still high), and we can still make trades, but I hope Kovy does the “right(according to me)” thing and signs with us for 8 mil or less, leaving the door open to sign our core guys in a year+ to come.

    I wouldn’t count Helene Elliott as a reliable source. Plus, Rich already said DL isn’t going public with the negotiations. Reading Helene article’s, I think she’s referring to what Atlanta offered prior to the trade deadline.
