A couple random notes

It’s worth noting that Raitis Ivanans apparently has signed a two-year contract with Calgary worth $565,000 per year. That, presumably, leaves the door open for Kevin Westgarth to earn a spot on the Kings’ roster this training camp.

In terms of Kovalchuk, it’s interesting to note that no other teams beyond the Kings and Devils have even been mentioned today — at least by a reputable source — and there are conflicting reports about whether the Devils are even still in the hunt. The whole thing is fascinating, and it’s worth wondering whether the KHL is being used as leverage.
