Draft eve

For those attending the draft tomorrow, here’s a quick rundown of what will be taking place in the area. Staples Center doors will open at 2 p.m., and all fans with a ticket can enter the arena and take pictures of and with the NHL trophies, including the Stanley Cup, from 2-3:30 p.m. Fans, however, won’t have access to the arena seating area until 3 p.m. Outside the arena, in the L.A. Live Plaza across the street, the “NHL Draft Festival” will be taking place from noon-9 p.m., with a beer garden, games and the ability to do a mock play-by-play of an NHL game. The draft, telecast on Versus, will run from 4-7 p.m. Tomorrow morning, at approximately 10 a.m., I’ll be posting a live stream of the commissioner’s brunch, which includes a panel discussion and Q&A with Gary Bettman, Tim Leiwek, Luc Robitaille and Bob Nicholson, the president/CEO of Hockey Canada.

Of course, on the blog I’ll have full, live coverage of the draft from inside the arena, both days, and also be sure to check LAKings.com’s draft page for extensive coverage, including video and audio. For now, here’s the link to a podcast with Michael Futa, the Kings’ co-director of amateur scouting.

I personally have had alot of chances to see it,but have stayed away, waiting till the Kings actually win it.Seeing as how they have’nt won it yet, maybe i’ll take a look,up close and personal.

    It might change our luck:)

@Pat, I’ll miss it too due to work! Heard an interview with Pierre McGuire this morning on XM – NHL Home Ice–sounds like this will be a great event with lots of local support. There hasn’t been this much excitement about hockey in LA since this year’s playoff run and Gretzky! Go Kings!

I’ll be working the draft tomorrow as a guide for both a drafted player and a player’s family. Hope everyone has fun tomorrow. Go kings!

I assume you’re going to the draft Rich? If so will it be your first in person? Looking forward to it or rather just watch on TV? And if you are going I’m curious how much access you’ll have to Dean and the Kings? Will they let you sit at the draft table or will you be up in the press area or what?

Lombardi is probably at the baggage carousel at LAX right now seeing which kids brought hockey bags and which brought suit bags. One guess which one DL will draft.

Sure wish I could be there.
When the Stanley Cup came to Boise, I stood in line for hours for the opportunity to see it up close. Touched it too! Wish I could post the pic.
