    Can we call McIlrath and ask him to keep next week open?

    Voynov and Fransson aren’t going to be there? That’s a bit curious. What about Zatkoff?

    I find it funny that the new draft picks are going to get broken in rather quickly. Within a couple days of being drafted by the Kings, they’re going to be greeted in El Segundo by a bunch of starved for hockey Kings fans who will probably know more about their stats than they do.

    @Joel, if you were a 2010 draft pick and were asked to participate in a prospect clinic, and then see rabid fans in the stands in July, would you go home and work on your game all summer?

    I may have been able to lengthen that sentence.

    @jet, I know I would.

    @Joel,

    Simple mistaken omission or they got invited to training camp and get to skip the dev. camp.

    Joel Reply:

    @src, Voynov and Fransson both have a shot at a Kings roster spot next season if they play well enough. I hope it wasn’t because they turned down an invite. They may not get too many opportunities in training camp to show what they have; e.g. Scott Parse last year.

    It’s also interesting that Trevor Lewis is on the list. He still doesn’t have a contract yet does he?

    What about tryouts? Or is this only the draft picks and FA’s under contract?

    @quisp, Ya i don’t understand why Bernier, Voynov, Loktionov, and Fransson are not participating. Does anyone know why they are not a part of the camp? Are they injured?

    @quisp,

    They were all part of the yet to be announced package going to the Blackhawks for Byfuglien and Sharp.

    @Belexes,

    TSN is announcing Byfuglien, Eager, and Sopol traded to Atlanta.
    I was hoping we had a shot at Byfuglien!

    I was wondering about Juraj Mikus, and the remembered, he is Juraj Mikus.

    Cynic Reply:

    @John Rasmussen,

    He doesn’t need development. He’s Juraj Mikus. He would only discourage the others with his superior abilities.

    Luc20rules Reply:

    @Cynic, This is why I believe the Mikus has not cracked the Kings Roster and was sent home as Manchester needed to build confidence going into the playoffs.

    I would really like to see Dwight King step it up. This guy is listed at 6’3″ and 227. He seemed to have good speed and all the makings of what we need – a fast big bodied guy who can crack the top 6. I’m not sure of his shot or defensive responsibility but if he can improve on the things that’s needed he can be a dark horse.

    I feel the same way about Dwight King,,if he could only step up and take a spot on the kings, he would sure plug a lot of holes with size, scoring, and speed. Other than that we will need two different bodies to achieve the same goal. Hickey for speed and passing, Schenn for size and scoring, speaking of Schenn, did anyone watch how he kept feeding his forwards with the puck and keeping it alive off the boards in the Wheat Kings playoff run,,even when they didn’t score, he kept giving his wngers chance after chance. Sure hopes he brings that game to the next Level. On onther topic, it seems as though Kings are interetsed in our old friend Tim Gleason, does anyone know what we gave got for him when we let him go?,,,I’m sure it’s going to cost a lot more to get him back. but he is a solid defender, I’m sure Jack Johnson would love to have another Michigan native on the Blue Line.

    Wish I could get away from work so I could see how these young players have improved from september. My 2 personal favorites from last year, Niclas Deslauriers and Garrett Roe. Deslauriers showed me great skating ability and a 6th sense about when to pinch in and when to stay back. Garrett Roe showed good skill level and skating, but more importantly he showed something that DL is always preaching..great heart, and an ability to give a hit as well as take a hit and go to the dirty areas and try and make something happen. Hopefully their will be video and reports about the players from Rich and some of the bloggers on this site, I look forward to it !

    I know it was released a couple of days ago, but has anyone noticed the messed up 10 day road trip in Feb. 2011. I think long road trips are good for a team bonding and all that, but it has them bouncing around all over the place its not like the nice circular pattern they sent the Canucks on last year that probably cut their miles travelled by 20% from any other year that had 82 games. Not to mention the 5 day break probably has the All Star Game, so players not in it will be making a trip from Calgary to LA and then back to Pittsburgh. On the bright side we don’t have a ton of Home & Homes with teams that are 800+ miles away in 2010-2011.
