Busy week

There will be plenty to dissect and discuss this week…

Beyond the obvious, the NHL Draft on Friday and Saturday at Staples Center, the NHL awards will be handed out on Wednesday in Las Vegas, and of course Drew Doughty is a finalist for the Norris Trophy at the end of his second season.

Also, the NHL will release its schedule tomorrow morning and we’ll soon find out the Kings’ preseason schedule. I’m also expecting to have, in the next day or two, the official rundown of the Kings’ developmental camp, which will take place fairly soon after the draft.

Then, finally, there’s the informal countdown on whether the Kings will reach a contract-extension agreement with Dean Lombardi and/or hire John Stevens as an assistant coach. It’s definitely one of the bigger weeks of the offseason, but it should be fun!
