NHL Draft tickets

Tickets for the NHL Draft, to be held June 25-26 at Staples Center, can be acquired and downloaded at LAKings.com/nhldraft starting Saturday at 10 a.m. Tickets are free, other than a $1.25 service charge per ticket, and a maximum of four tickets is allowed per person. The ticket is good for both days of the draft.

    They’re not even charging for this?

    The NHL Draft is a huge event. And for it to come to Los Angeles is huge. Why the Kings wouldn’t aim to capitalize is beyond me (unless there are NHL rules).

    Now, if we don’t pay Kovalchuk or Marleau enough money, we’ll know the reason…

    @Kevin Y,
    Do the NFL or NBA charge? I would totally go for free but I don’t think I would pay money. I doubt they’ll even have many of the concession stands open.

    @Kevin Y, Sounds like a nice reward to the home town fans to me. And unlike Jammer i believe most of the concessions will be open and that’s where they will make all their money. Why wouldn’t they open Jammer?

    @Doc. Mark 1968,

    Maybe it’s because season ticket holders get “complimentary” tickets already.

    Whatever, I won’t be able to go. I’ll be out of town for family stuff.

    @Bryan Agee,

    Just kept refreshing and was able to get mine. I am from L.A. and moved to Vancouver, Washington, about 6 years ago. Am excited to come back to L.A. for this event and then hopefully the dodgers vs yankees the next day.

    [Reply]

    USCG Reply:

    @Ripken8138, those dodgers vs yankees tickets are retarded expensive. Normal 6 dollar seats are starting around 40-ish. Good luck to you.

    [Reply]

    Ripken8138 Reply:

    @USCG, Thanks,

    Being from L.A. I have a few friends who might have tixs. Might be coming down alone. IF I can’t go to the game, might hit up the dodgers vs. Giants in S.F. on the way back home.

    USCG Reply:

    @Ripken8138, the giants game is better in my opinion anyway, sucks that its in S.F. instead of L.A. but at least over there you won’t be hassled for cheering for L.A. as much as you would here against SanFran. Have fun out there! I don’t get what the big deal with the yankees is anyway, why people wanna pay good money to see the dodgers get destroyed is beyond me. (p.s. im a huge dodger fan but no way we win any of those three games)

    What a cluster that was! I just had to keep refreshing the page because I didn’t believe it was possible that they would sell out instantly. It asked me to log in to my LAKings.com account – so I had to go find my password for that, then in gave me an error screen. I re-tried twice and finally got through to the ticket section, ordered four, filled out my payment info, then got another error screen. Re-tried payment twice and finally got a confirmation number and receipt! Tell me again why the Kings continue to do business with Ticketmaster.

    What a crock! Logged on to get draft tickets and they were “out” within an hour! Waited a half hour to get to the site to get them and was told they were all gone. Can’t imagine there would be a huge demand for draft tickets but no doubt the stupid scalpers got their hands on these essentially free tickets and intend to make a ridiculous markup. BETTER IDEA KINGS, Offer the tickets at the ticket window the day of the event! you won’t have people asking for 4 when they really need 2. Or getting 4 then deciding not to go etc. etc.. Poorly handled.

    [Reply]

    USCG Reply:

    @Geoff, dude i literally got mine 20 seconds ago. When it tells you to not press refresh, go ahead an press refresh. It says they have only sold 1500 so far.

    It is all good to get a confirmation number…but I won’t rest until I get a confirmation e-mail! I went to the draft in Columbus in 2007…I guess this draft is going to be the same? Get there early…wait in line…and first come first seat?

  25. Nightman says:

    Ok i did try again after 20 mins and i found the kings email advirt in my inbox and tried link through that and i did get in and did get two tix. But it took me a while to figure out what promo code was “draft” duh.
    Now i printed all the pages and email i got, but now im confused, it says on one page that ill receive tickets via “Ticket Fast Print at Home” and on the Kings page it says “Bring printed page to will call”. So will i be going to will call the day of, or will they be emailing me tickets for me to print out at home??

    [Reply]

    jet Reply:

    @Nightman, Make sure you bring the credit card that you used to pay the ticket fee with otherwise TicketMaster will not release the tickets. I ran into this issue during the season and it took 30 minutes to get resloved. If you do get stuck at will call without your card ask for the lady manager with the long blond hair. She was able and willing to make a logical decision after I gave her my season ticket numbers and all of my ticketmaster purchase transactions for the past 2 years.

    Now that I think of it, I have had a positive experience every time I have dealt with a manager at Staples and a negative experience everytime I have had to deal with a Ticket master manager.

    baldhedjer Reply:

    @Nightman, I had the same issue, so I sent a message to the customer service link for ticketmaster (newproductsupport@mailca.custhelp.com) and they have been back in touch with me that there was a problem with the ticket account that I set up to get the tickets, and they couldn’t get the .pdf to me at the moment, but that they are “accelerating” it and will email me the .pdf as soon as they can. You may want to try that.

    @baldhedjer, thanks, i was confused with that too.

    Obviously the early bird catches the worm doesn’t apply here. Read some of your posts, checked back around noon and after messing around with the hassle known as Ticketmaster, got my 4 tickets. I suspect they’ll be pretty liberal about letting people move around, so any seat is as good as another.

    Hey Rich,

    I got 3 tickets in section GA26 and i was wondering if you knew where that is at ?

    @Andy, GA is general admission. This is how tickets are labelled for the Rookie Camp games in the Summer. Seating is open on a first come, first served basis. I’d suggest being early or on time to grab some good seats.
