Memorial Cup update

The Memorial Cup continues today, and it appears as though Kings prospect Brandon Kozun will be able to resume his quest for the cup. Kozun missed the Calgary Hitmen’s previous two games with an ankle injury but is expected to play today when the Hitmen face the Brandon Wheat Kings in the tournament’s semifinal game (5 p.m. Pacific, NHL Network). The game features Calgary’s Kozun and fellow Kings prospect Martin Jones against Brandon and Kings prospect Brayden Schenn. Calgary beat Brandon 5-1 on Wednesday, but the game didn’t mean much because the teams already knew they would face each other in the semifinals. The winner of today’s game will face the Windsor Spitfires in Sunday’s one-game final.
