Monarchs lose Game 2

Chris Bourque’s second goal of the game,10:28 into the first overtime period, gave the Hershey Bears a 3-2 victory over the Manchester Monarchs and a 2-0 series lead in the Eastern Conference Finals. The series continues with Game 3 Monday at Manchester. Gabe Gauthier scored both goals for the Monarchs and Jonathan Bernier stopped 36 of 39 shots.

Bourque started the scoring for Hershey with a goal 3:07 into the first period. Manchester tied it with 6:02 remaining in the first period when Gauthier scored on the power play, with assists to Trevor Lewis and Kyle Clifford. The Monarchs took a 2-1 lead 1:07 into the second period when Gauthier scored, with assists to Drew Bagnall and Corey Elkins. The Bears tied it when Steve Pinizzotto scored 3:35 into the third period. The Monarchs had been 3-0 in overtime games and the Bears had been 4-0 in overtime in these Calder Cup playoffs.
