Memorial Cup to start

The Memorial Cup, featuring the championships of three major-junior Canadian Hockey League teams, plus the host team, gets underway today. The host Brandon Wheat Kings include Kings prospect Brayden Schenn, while the WHL’s Calgary Hitmen have Kings prospects Martin Jones and Brandon Kozun. The OHL’s Windsor Spitfires are there along with the QMJHL’s Moncton Wildcats.

The games will be televised on the NHL Network, starting with today’s Windsor-Brandon game at 5 p.m. Pacific time (there’s also a preview show at 4 p.m.)

Kozun has been injured in recent days but is expected to play. To get going with the tournament, you can check out a couple articles from the Canadian media…
