    Highest scoring offense, say hello to the least number of goals allowed. Something’s gotta give!

    These teams split 2 games during the regular season, both wins coming on the road. They scored 5 total goals against and the Monarchs scored 3. Moller got 2 of them…

    It’s shaping up to be a helluva series!

    @BakoCAkingsCondorsGuy, In all honesty, I don’t think Montreal thought it was possible. I’ll never, ever root for the Canadiens, BUT I do love an 8th seed making a run. David and Goliath. Pretty cool.

    If Montreal beats Pittsburgh, they have a clear shot to the Cup Finals. Don’t care who wins between BOS and PHI… Montreal will beat them!

    Now it’s 3-0 Hershey and 3-0 Montreal!!!!!

    Someone asked about the Kings Prospect Jordan Nolan (son of Coach Ted Nolan) he spent 2009-10 season with the Soo Greyhounds of the OHL Juniors. He played well with almost a assist per game and almost a goal every other game for 1.42 pts per game over 59 games. He will likely get a chance at Manchester-AHL or Ontario-ECHL, but it depends on how many prospects get traded or promoted to the Kings.

    luc20rules Reply:

    @luc20rules, Correction, I was going off memory and just couldn’t find the guys post to reply.
    Jordan Nolan – Soo Greyhounds OHL 2009-10 Season
    49 GP, 23 G, 25 A, 48 PTS, -5(+/-), 88 PM
    so it was almost a point per game. What might also get him the promotion to ECHL or AHL is the fact that he is an enforcer.

  8. The thing about Pittsburgh losing is that the NHL Hockey hierarchy is disturbed, especially in the east…

    It’s official. Michael Cammalleri’s departure is Dean Lombardi’s biggest misstep as the GM of the Kings. Twelve goals in two playoff rounds.

    [Reply]

    BakoCAkingsCondorsGuy Reply:

    @KingMe20,

    Two points.

    1): Cammy had a plan, and it did not include the Kings (or the Flames, for that matter). The plan was to get MAXIMUM COIN. No matter what, the Kings would not have given him what he wanted. Cammy had to go elsewhere and prove his true worth. To his credit, he did.

    2): Cammy–I believe–wanted to play for the Canadiens FROM THE BEGINNING To his credit, he achieved his goal.

    [Reply]

    Brian Reply:

    @KingMe20, Why is that? He was a free agent after last season. It was well documented that Cammy wanted to be take advantage of free agency and go to a Canadian team. You may as well say that Cammy was every other teams’ bigest mistep because they all missed out on him too. Lombardi only missed out on Cammy last year, which didn’t make a difference.

    If you asked me, I wouldn’t want Cammy on the Kings for $6million/year for 6 years. He’s a good player but not worth that price. Right player, wrong price . . .

    [Reply]

    wavesinair Reply:

    @KingMe20, I don’t understand fans who want players who DO NOT WANT to be on their team. Cammy wanted out. Period.

    I only want players on my Kings who want to be here. Otherwise, take a hike. Don’t care how good you are.

    [Reply]

    KingMe20 Reply:

    @wavesinair,

    I’m sure the money had something to do with it, but I also think Marc Crawford was a big piece of his wanting to leave. He is notorious for being a bad coach for young players, and we all know how his tenure ended.

    He had his worst year with the Kings in Crawford’s second year. Cammalleri leaves to play for Calgary and goes on to have a career year, and then goes to Montreal and is helping to lead his team into a potential upset of both the President’s Trophy winner and the reigning Stanley Cup champs.

    Could his departure have been avoided? Maybe not, but he’s a natural goal scorer, and those guys don’t just drop into your lap next to a center who is a point-a-game player. I think a player of his talent should been given more rope, and more effort should have been made to convince him to stay.

    Right now, the pick the Kings got for eventually resulted in Colton Teubert (which only reminds me that they flipped picks with Buffalo at 13, and Buffalo used the 12th pick to take some kid named Tyler Myers), so maybe it’s too early to tell if it was a good trade.

    [Reply]

    luc20rules Reply:

    @KingMe20, Cut in pasting my past blog, I would like to say by the time we made the trade it was too late to salvage the relationship of player and ownership. If we were to sign Cammalleri it would have had to be done before an NHL abitrator decided he was only worth a 2 year contract at 1.5 mil/yr. I don’t know if rumors or true but what I had heard was DL offered 4 yr 13 mil(3.25mil/yr), and it was refused. On top of that don’t you think Cammalleri may be playing with more fire in his belly and a chip on his shoulder after 2 teams LA & Cal told him he wasn’t worth 6 mil/yr. Honestly, I think that was also the number in his or his agent’s mind before arbitration in the summer of 2007. All I can say is I don’t think he would be the competitor he is now without the history he has had. I know he coasted thru the 2007-8 season with the Kings. Would he have been so determined if DL just ponied up the money?
    Don’t really know for sure?
    Do I miss his ability on the Kings, yes was there a mistake thats hard to answer, because Rich wasn’t here to get the numbers that went back and forth, and was the attitude problem as bad as rumors made it sound?

    i know he’s one-dimensional, has questionable character issues and demands a lot for his vagabond services…but…michael cammalleri is doing that one-dimensional extremely well and just adding to his future value now that he has established himself as a playoff performer…

    i still think it was a move the kings had to make in trading cammy at the time…

    however, he’s backing up his cockiness by scoring goals and leading his team to the conference finals…

    right now, cammy is getting what he wants…
    but it doesn’t mean that we can’t get what we want, the way we want it, without him…

    @variable,

    Sometimes you need guys like that on your team to win. Claude Lemieux was a right bastard of a player, hated by opponents and teammates alike. Yet, he always had a place in the NHL because he won four Cups and a Conn Smythe.

    You may not like Cammalleri personally (and you’re not to be blamed for that), but he does his job as well as anyone right now, and he’s the type of goal-scoring threat the Kings just don’t have right now.
