@VanKingsFan, no kidding on the goalie(s) This is not a tourney to expect much from Team USA. If Russia doesn’t win,the entire team will be shipped to Siberia.

Its a White Russian, with no ice and no cup!!!!

hell, i’m not sure I’d WANT to win in front of 77,000+ angry germans at an outdoor game…at least indoors you got a chance to hide.

Actually, it was indoors.

Well, there’s an attendance record that will stand for some time, wow! I hope JJ had some good wurst at least.

You know nobody takes this competition seriously. I think only person that is probably all geeked up about it is Jack Johnson.

@Alen,
And the entire nation of Canada, and clearly at least 77,000 Germans take it pretty serious. I would say the same for all of the major hockey players in Europe too.

Captain Jack Johnson has a nice ring to it!
[Reply]
Unfortunately Capt. Jack had a couple of bonehead passes on the PP in the 3rd period. Only saw the 3rd period and the US goal was a fluke off a skate. JJ did not look sharp or impressive.
Greene had a little trouble with the bigger ice surface as you could imagine.

Turns out Canada and USA won’t play each other until the Quarter Finals

The US losing to Germany is as stupid as me having to watch the east coast Philly/Boston OT game while the Van/Chicago game is under way and I’m missing it? Why the eff do I, in the western market, want to watch the crap from the east? Please somebody Please fix this stupid VS TV contract CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you

@Tired Of It,
I think they’re doing fine given that they don’t have a 2nd channel for overlapping games. They can’t just cut away from OT when they’ve just shown the first 3 periods.
And as for East vs West, I’ll take Pittsburgh v Montreal over Detroit v San Jose any day.

I think it would be awesome to watching a game in a stadium like that. KINGS of course.
Also have to say all players in this tournament will be taking seriously as they are representing their countries. Pride us a BIG
motivator.
