Dustin Brown’s postgame thoughts…
(on the game…)
BROWN: “That could have been a 3-2 overtime loss or the loss we had. We’ve just got to let it go. It’s one game. We still have opportunities to win this series. Whether it’s a 3-2 loss or a 7-2 loss, it’s definitely not what we wanted but we’ve got to move forward.”
(on whether players talked after the game, or what Terry Murray said…)
BROWN: “Terry didn’t have to say anything after the game. At this point of the year, regardless of whether you lose 7-2 or 3-2, it’s not what we wanted. We didn’t have a lot of things tonight, but we can’t sit here and analyze or feel bad for ourselves or dwell on it. We have a game in two days, and if we win it we’re right back where we are right now. So that’s our attitude.”
Murray had nothing to say….he was too busy trying to figure out his lines for the next game…

A 7-2 regulation loss is NOT the same as a 3-2 overtime loss! A 3-2 loss means there was a battle and a close game. Tonights “game” was a clinic for Vancouver.
Vancouver players and fans are pathetic.

kq949-
Its still a loss.

That is all the captain of the team has to say?
Gee – I hope you didn’t bother him.
How about a follow up –
Dustin, is it better to stay with your man or screen your own goalie?

A loss is a loss, but what is the emotional toll from a schelacking vs. a battle nearly won?

I for one would much rather get blown out knowing the team didn’t play well at all. Yes a loss is a loss no matter the score, but a close loss like game 1 at this point in the series could do more damage. “I did all this and came so close only to lose?” That is a hard thought to swallow. But knowing you were downright punked should light a fire under your ass. Yes this is the playoffs and you shouldn’t need the extra motivation, but sometimes it HAS to happen.
And for getting on Brownie for his comments after the game, that’s as straightforward comments as you’re going to get. He didn’t sugarcoat anything and came right out with saying the team didn’t have much of anything and flat out needed to be better.
Obviously a win on Sunday makes this game all the more forgettable as it will be a one game, loser goes home, event.

you would think come playoff time, a head coach would have his lines figured out already. thats why we have no chemistry, he keeps movin everyone around

Duh, Murray, you don’t have nothing to say–Well, I hope you are thinking about unemployment, because the rate you are going with this team and this team lost confidence because of you.

I’m going to repost this in every thread I see in the hopes just ONE player will see it:
In the playoffs….
There are no ‘Off Nights’.
….only players who don’t show up.
Make sure you’re all there Sunday night because we will be…and we deserve to see you all win this SERIES like we know you can.

I have no problem with what Brown said after the game. What I do have a problem with is Brown wearing that “C” on his jersey. Now dont get me wrong I think brown is a good player, hes just not the type of leader this team needs. The Captain should be the type of player that will stand up for his players (DOUGHTY) and drop the gloves when needed to send a message.
So please Dean, your number one priority this off season should be a proven leader. Someone who will stand up for the younger guys.
Your Kings are “SOFT”. And a hockey team cannot be soft.

And Vancouver lost 8-3 in our previous meeting before the playoffs…
Whatever.
If we quit making Randy Joneses (nee mistakes), we’ll be fine.
