The Kings lead the best-of-seven series 2-1, with Game 4 to be played Wednesday night at Staples Center. It was a night for the Kings’ power play, which went 3-for-3, and for Michal Handzus (two goals, one assist) and defensemen Drew Doughty (one goal, three assists) and Jack Johnson (three assists). More from the locker room ASAP…
Man it feels good to be a Kings fan right now!!!
[Reply]
way to go boys……. were on our way
[Reply]
Woohoo!! Go Kings!! Doughty and Johnson were beasts! Way to go Zeus!
[Reply]
YEAH BABY!
[Reply]
Quick was very solid after the third goal, this is very important, his form is surely improving and will be crucial in the conference semifinal!
[Reply]
Yeah!!!
Boy, does that game clock seem slow in the playoffs! haha
[Reply]
OK!
Jim Fox is the biggest dumb ass i have ever listed too!
OUTSIDE OF THE PUCK?
Thats it, he is a dope!!!!
[Reply]
Awesome boys!! Let’s get another one on WED!
[Reply]
Great job so far but this is just a lead. The guys need to play even harder on Wednesday because VAN is going to be MAD! That, and I will be at that game.
[Reply]
Yeah!
[Reply]
Awesome Awesome game boys!!! Man that playoff feel is such a damn good feeling! Been too long! We can do this. I look at the teams in the conference and really the only team i’m concerned about is phoenix. we’ve shown that we’ve dominated pretty much everyone else at some point along the way!
[Reply]
WE’RE UP, 2 GAMES TO 1 ! yES!
[Reply]
ZEUSSSSS!!!!!!
[Reply]
Kings are finding ways to win!!Even against a team that bullied them all night!!Were going to have to get a bit more physical next game !!
[Reply]
Glade they won by two goals so that called off goal is so much of a factor.
I thought Halpern and the whole fourth line was great.
[Reply]
Holy crap, we got lucky with that kicked-in goal ruling. Let’s ride that momentum the rest of the way!
[Reply]
Yes, Soooooooooo awesome. What a game. Can’t wait for Wednesday so the Kings can make it 3-1. They can do it!
We Believe!
[Reply]
What a game!!! GREAT EFFORT AND HUSTLE BY EVERYONE!! JJ, and DD our future defense-men.. LOCK them up for their career DL!! Zues is the man!! That third line put together by TM was the best line he has put together!!! Much props to him!!! Lets keep this momentum going boys, we fans are loving this!!! Lets win on wednesday and crush their hopes!!! GO KINGS GO!!!!
[Reply]
JIM FOX = MORON!!!!!
[Reply]
Everyone played a great game tonight! Now DO NOT take your feet off the gas pedal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GO KINGS!!!
[Reply]
There is still a long way to go…this win is huge! KEEP THE MOMENTUM!
[Reply]
Everyone here has been calling for benching Halpern. He was a monster on the PK tonight. Glad TM did not listen.
[Reply]
I don’t think we need to get more physical at all. The Nucks are thinking more about laying a smack on someone than playing the puck. They can have the steam they want, but we don’t have to respond – just keep scoring. And I do like these lines.
[Reply]
What a fun game to watch. Kings in 5!
[Reply]
What an exciting game!!!
Kings in six!
Let’s go KINGS!!!
[Reply]
Why was Jack Johnson jipped on the interview with Heidi??? I don’t get it? Sure, Doughty had a great game, but JJ was the player of the game.
[Reply]
Eat Mor Chikin’!!!!
[Reply]
Great win…I love Foxy
[Reply]
..Jim Fox is an idiot…puck was clearly kickted in ..and he call it 50/50
..PP is the reson we are wining.
Sure i am happy we are up 2-1, still to many holes and of course we need play full 60 minutes. Two games in row we start very slow and finding ourself behind.
JJ ,DD become engines of kings.
Anyway lets enjoy this.We been waiting very very long for this…
[Reply]
Great win. Nice being up 2-1 in games. We do need to be for physical and not just shot the puck into the other end. But great team effort.
[Reply]
‘Nucks can’t complain about ANYTHING in this one. Even the reversed goal. DUDE, if you knuckleheads could kill a penalty maybe you’d have something to cry about. Fortunately it was a non issue.
GO KINGS GO!!!!!
[Reply]
On the the floor jumpin like a mad man!
wife thinks I’m nuts .what a game Go Kings
[Reply]
Who were the 3 stars of the game?
What did Jim Fox do to make him a moron?
How about those Kings?
I’m still missing Bob, no fair, waaaaahhhh
Guess I’m getting a bit spoiled.
LOL Got to love being a Kings fan! Feels great.
[Reply]
J Fox. Obviously u r from vancouver you homer. No distinct kicking motion??? how bout I shove my boot up your but at 500mph? No wonder OJ got away with it… I would’ve rather had brian hayward from the ducks broadcast. other than that awesome game. Luv u kings!!!
[Reply]
kings were the most mature team, great focus
[Reply]
Yah Baby!
Got to give it up for Halpern this time–he did the job!
[Reply]
The Kings have to respond physically or they won t have anything left for the second round!!They were pounded hard and believe me ,that kind of punishment will take it s toll! Ask Smitty and Doughty how their feeling right now!!!
[Reply]
And we didn’t need OT! Don’t get me wrong, OT is exciting, but it was nice to enjoy the final 30 seconds. Go Kings!
[Reply]
Is there a link anywhere to Kings talk. The stream from 570 isn’t the Kings game.
[Reply]
I’ll feel much better when Quick starts keeping his focus for the whole game, and I like him, but I can see spots where he is just not focused.
[Reply]
we rattled one of the best goalies in hockey and got him pulled. that is something to build on. and perfect on the pp? wow!
[Reply]
Look at Patricks face??? Someone get security!!! LOL
[Reply]
Next game is huge!! The boys need to be a lot more physical and throw these nuckers down!!! Go at them hard!!!! Hope TM emphasizes that in practice tomm!!! GO KINGS GO!!!
[Reply]
I still cannot believe it was 3/3 PP tonight
[Reply]
I wonder what the conspiracy theorist in Vancouver are doing right now. I am sure it sounds a bit like… WAH WAH WAH…
[Reply]
A perfect night for the Kings. The only exception? Patrick O’Neal.
And who’s the King of the gods? Zeus!!!! Doughnuts and JMFJ are freakin’ monsters!! Kill Kill Kill
[Reply]
Johnjuan–Just curious, how many commentators have you “listed” to?
[Reply]
Finally I got in to say something. WOW! What a feeling. FINALLY GAME TIME CAME FOR ME. Even thou, I was on the couch, I couldnt breathe….I felt like I was on the ice with all of the KINGS all night long. Pure excitement all night long. 3-3 on the PP. WOW! Words cant describe the feeling I have! I just cant say anything…Im speechless…ONLY THING I CAN SAY IS:
MAN ITS GOOD TO BE IN THE PLAY-OFFS!!
GO KINGS GO….GO KINGS GO… GO KINGS GO!!
[Reply]
Cry Baby,
see my post above, they CAN’T complain about ANYTHING. now, they WILL, but it’ll just be bunch of meaningless blather.
[Reply]
Bottom line: That was FUN!!!!!!!!
Let’s get them again Wednesday!
(Waiting to see what they might have to say on NHL Network about the “kicked in” goal. A Twitter friend from Vancouver is whining.)
[Reply]
long live Doughty and Johnson !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hear me roar from Ontario, Canada !!!!!!
[Reply]
On a side note. Did Harrold play AT ALL in the third?
[Reply]
And the 2 goal cushion felt sooooo goooood! Finally, a win in regulation. I sure was hoping for a hat trick for Zues. So close. I’m just now calming down.
[Reply]
OK–everyone knocking Jimmy for his kicking call. It took a team of several officials over 6 minutes to determine that it was kicked in. I’m certain that some in the review booth agreed with Jimmy. Put your collective brains together and you might be able to see that it was a hard decision.
[Reply]
Thank u Mike Murphy ,you old King you!!WINK WINK…..
[Reply]
Everyone thought Mitch Kupchak was crazy to draft Andrew Bynum. Those people ate their words when the Lakers won it all.
Everyone thought Dean Lombardi was crazy to sign an almost crippled Michal Handzus to a 4 year deal. (me included)
I just officially choked swallowing my words.
[Reply]
We Won the game.Still finding someone to bash…unbelieveable
[Reply]
AWSOME! GO KINGS GO! lets build on this 2 to 1 lead.
[Reply]
Love the game…Jim Fox, you continue to annoy me. Act like a Kings fan, thats who you’re representing!
-PS, did anyone remember my pre-playoff post…Luongo will be chased, Quick will be huge!
[Reply]
What a game. Jack has looked great throughout the playoffs so far. On a different note, Jim Fox was pissing me off so bad tonight saying that should have been a goal.
[Reply]
Foxy in damage control mode. “I saw the flick”. Whatever GO KINGS GO!!!!
[Reply]
They’ll blame it on the ice.. Too bad. LOL
[Reply]
Mike Murphy should get an assist….Long time King gave us a break!!!!!
[Reply]
Only two more wins to wrap this up.
I respect the FOX.
[Reply]
Alain, Your PK BLOWS dude, if any Nuck fan crys about that goal….We were 3 for 3 on the PP. SHUT UP…you deserved to loose this one.
[Reply]
Kept thinking some guys in purple spandex suits would appear near the penalty box for some reason. glad they didnt. Bailey might have kicked their ass.
[Reply]
2 wins to go…
FINISH THEM!!!!!!!!!!!
[Reply]
To be fair, that looked like a good goal (imo)…just because he is our announcer doesn’t mean he can’t look at things objectively. Bottom line is we went 3/3 and they went 0/4.
[Reply]
Any report on Harrold yet?
If he’s hurt, I hope that Drewiske is promoted to the lineup because we need the WINS,
[Reply]
The goal could’ve gone either way…it went ours…they scored right after that…then we finished them.
Bring on game 4.
[Reply]
@Count RockuLA…u know long time KINGS player Mike Murphy had the last say on that disputed no goal…WayToGo Murph!!!!
[Reply]
YESSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOT!!!!! Please don’t blame the Canadian media (I am in Ottawa), especially in Vancouver. They are well known for their ability to cry.. They will spend the next two days complaining about the no-goal call, but will forget that it became a TWO GOAL game… The ONE goal would not have made a difference, but just wait for the tear-stained newspapers. People really love their teams here, and you just have to take it with a grain of salt…
[Reply]
Okay, I didn’t get to see Bob and Jim, as I’m at school, but isn’t part of the reason we love our announcers because they don’t show a lot of bias and call it like they see it? If Foxy thought it was a goal, then I respect him saying so. Do I agree? Not at all, but coming from someone who hears other teams announcers all season long, it’s very refreshing when announcers aren’t biased.
[Reply]
whooooah, whooooah, whoooah, whoooah…who is Fox supposed to be representing?! That was clearly a kicking motion. The Canucks have enough homers, they don’t need Jim to sign up for their gang.
[Reply]
At least I didn’t have to see or listen to Patrick O’Neil.
Go Kings, get them in 5!
[Reply]
I wonder if those green guys are turning blue by now. Great game and let’s get ‘em on Wednesday.
[Reply]
Great game guys!Keep it going..Please resign Fro..and sign Zues and JMFJ to an extensions…..
[Reply]
What a great game, heard half the game on Seattle’s KJR 950 and the best line was when one of the announcers angrily screamed, “Do they know how to kill penalties? They are horrible, this is the worst penalty killing I’ve ever seen!” I got home and put the game on CBC and wow I’m so proud to be a Kings fan!!!
They spend 15 mins in the post game arguing with Mike Mulbury over why the goal was disallowed, instead of wondering why their team is heading down the gutter.
Great game and Doughty and JMFJ are such a force! Quick, I love yah man!!! You are the great!
[Reply]
Fantastic! It will be funny to hear the whining from Vancouver tomorrow!
[Reply]
@count rockula
No, if you look at the replay, there was a little bit of a distinct kick on it. That’s why they ruled it no goal.
I like it when Fox is objective, but there have been times in the last few months he seems to be off somewhat on controversial calls. But he usually gets it right. Anyway, he’s a great commentator.
[Reply]
cant wait until next game.GO KINGS GO!
[Reply]
@Fig 17 Fox ALWAYS sugar coats it. He is a Kings announcer and should not try to ALWAYS be right. He should be right on the Kings side. A little disappointing. He said it was a clean hit on Clune. Yea clean right to his head.
[Reply]
Best part… Playing the best hockey in recent times memory. Thank you.
[Reply]
We want the Cup… We want the Cup… We want the Cup. The future is now. The present and future of hockey is L.A.!!! We do some damage in the playoffs and your going to see L.A. become Hockey. I don’t think I have ever heard Staples rock the way it did today. Never this way for a Laker game… Like I said: We want the Cup… We want the Cup… We want the Cup!!!!
[Reply]
when the goal was reversed…the ref was the happiest…he didnt want 18,000 unhappy fans…i wonder if that was part of the discussion in Toronto…
[Reply]
Lenman,
I’m going to go ahead and disagree with you there…
The hit on Clune was clean. Cluner had his head down, the Nuck (can’t remember who it was, probably a-hole Rome or Glass) didn’t raise his elbow or elevate himself to hit his head. Clune needs to keep his head up in playoffs and against this team or he’s gonna get rocked again.
I have always appreciated Jim and Bob for their tendancy toward the right call, not the King call. It makes us all more intelligent, knowledgable hockey fans. I would kill myself if we had a Hayward.
[Reply]
OMG Staples was INSANE tonight! I almost didn’t live through that 6 on 4, sitting right behind Quick. Just a fantastic experience! We want more on Weds!!!! Great job Kings!!!
[Reply]
according to the stats the Kings actually outhit the Canucks…..
[Reply]
If you want Fox to be a homer, just go be a Ducks fan and listen to Hayward. Fox usually calls ‘em as he sees ‘em.
[Reply]
If Henrik Sedin’s skate didn’t leave the ice, it should be a good goal but he clearly lifted his skate and that’s we call a motion. JJ (No.1 star of the game) and DD (performer of the night:NHL on the fly) are on spotlight but don’t forget there was always Smyth’s presence in front of the net. He was my No.1 star tonight.
[Reply]
Smyth and Clune get my brass balls trophy for coming back after those hits….sheesh.
[Reply]
‘Daniel, your brother is ugly’ and ‘Henrik, your brother is ugly’ signs … which one do you like?
[Reply]
stop hating on foxy. the guy has been the most loyal kings supporter for a long time second to bob miller. it WAS a tough call. he was also funny when he told o’neal to calm down because of the rowdy fans.
[Reply]
Just returned from the game and man was it LOUD! Did the fans seem loud on TV?
Although no OT, it was still a nail-biter. Halpern did play much better defensively. As I’ve said all season long – Zeus for MVP. What a beast. It’s amazing what your PP can do when you come thru the NZ with speed. Bout time.
Foxy normally makes straight-up calls and thats what I like about him.
Luongo’s confidence is shot. If we get a couple goals on him early next game, this series is ours! Come out hard boys, still much work to be done. And also – KINGS ROCKKKKK!
GoKingsGo!
Oh, and Alain – get yourself a boy’s name will ya? Nice sign at the game saying “So the two green men are gay, eh?” Gotta love it.
[Reply]
Got home from the game and wow can’t even think about sleep….what a game….watching the replay on FSW. LOUD…LOUD….LOUD….people were still cheering all the way down the street on the way to the 10….had a great night…Thanks boys
[Reply]
The Kings played their game tonight. I like the chemistry in our team.
[Reply]
I love the kings, but don’t count luongo out. He will be much better next game. We need to keep up the pressure…seemed like we let down a little in the 2nd. Way to finish though! Go kings!
[Reply]
@johnjuan Chill out. Your not an ex hockey players so I suggest making smarter opinions
[Reply]
Great game! We battled & pulled through! Loving the powerplay!
The thing Kings do need to look at is Faceoffs. They lost pretty much everyone.
[Reply]
Best Game I’ve Ever Attended!!!!
Soooooooooo loud! Plus I was the second contestant on ice bowling! Got to meet the ice girls and watch the first Kings goal from the Zamboni doors!
GO Kings GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
[Reply]
…after the fift game (3-1 Kings) Mr luango will hang him up.almost forget ..next game score ..4-1 kings!!!I do not really care who the next victim is.Lets pray that our team remains healty. …and finaly come on guys Stop spoiling that samuelson boy..
This June is full of fun. Kings in finals and soccer world cup..I hope i can won my millions before that…some of you will be invited to party…Go Kings.
[Reply]
Wow Lepper your like an NHL analyst.
[Reply]
Love Fox’s objectivity, always have. He was just calling it like he saw it not how he “wanted it to be”. Looked like it was going to be a goal to me (glad I was wrong). I have seen other goals with “flicks” and they were not ruled kicks. Don’t forget it was ruled a goal on the ice.
Like the other commenters are saying, really listen to the ducks announcers next time the kings play them at home. You will learn how deeply annoying a biased set of commentators are.
Go Kings!!!!!!
[Reply]
gooooooooodd gameee!!!!
[Reply]
Great game by the kings. Now lets get them Wednesday night again but even harder!! meahaha!
I almost died when i saw Doughty going to the locker during the game. PHeW!!!
[Reply]
ROOM**
[Reply]
So you’d like Jim Fox to more of a hommer like Hazy or Panger? He was wrong, but I’m glad that he has his own opinion and expresses it. Not to mention he is a genuinely good guy.
[Reply]
Royal Pain:
I totally agree with you. Hazy has an extreme case of homeritis. I for one find it VERY refreshing that Foxy is objective and doesn’t conduct himself as a fan, but as a professional commentator. There is no doubt that personally Foxy is a major Kings fan, but professionally he strives to make his comments as bias free as possible.
So I agree with suggestion that for fans that want a color commentator who tosses professionalism to the four winds, become a Ducks fan and listen to Hazy. Then you can hear how every penalty call against the Ducks is unwarranted, but those same referees who make unwarranted calls against the Ducks seem to always have it right when they make a call against the opposing team.
And Hazy isn’t by himself by a long shot. Most NHL color commentators are extremely biased homers.
And by the way, for some of you, that allegedly OBVIOUS no goal call, that in my humble opinion could have gone either way, took Toronto one heck of a long time to make a decision. That in itself tells you that whatever happened on the play, it was a long ways from obvious.
[Reply]
I’m glad we won by two goals. That takes the sour taste off the “kick-in” goal that was waved off.
I know if it was, say, Modin whose skate knocked it into the Vancouver net, I might have crabbed about the Toronto decision myself.
[Reply]
Sign of a great color man? Myopic fans complain when he doesn’t act like a “Hayward Homer”.
Great job Fox, that’s what makes you better than the rest.
[Reply]
Great Job! Awesome to be a Kings fan! Won two games in a series for the first time since …
Fox has been apologizing for the refs, rough play, no calls ALL SEASON LONG!
Calling him objective is a joke. Calling him an apologist is more accurate like Mr. Lepper is a wannabe duffer.
Chill dude or are you currently attending some kind of fantasy nhl players or analyst camp?
Thank god for VS and Nick and the KINGS!!!!
[Reply]
We need to rock Staples even more on Wednesday… Lets rock the house!!!
[Reply]
Foxy was dead on in his analysis. I thought it was going to be a goal. The third look I started seeing the “flick” of the toe but like he said it’s easy when a guy pulls the foot back and boots it but in this case he was skating through the crease and did move his foot. Evidently it was enough. I’m happy it was out and I’m happy we have Bob and Jim who aren’t homers.
[Reply]
If Fox (pro hockey player) is such an idiot and the call was so easy, why did it take six minutes for the league to figure it out?
[Reply]
Those of you calling Fox an idiot need to sit back for a second and think about what you are saying. It took the league six or seven minutes to make the call. It was NOT obvious either way. Can we just enjoy the victory and move on?
[Reply]
Canucks had me worried at the beginning. They are a brutal team to play against. A few of those hits even had me reeling. Once they got behind they played a less physical game. That is the key to our success. We have make smarter plays in our zone and chip pucks out when we get pressure. Their D is always pinching and taking the body. We need to exploit that to get more 5 on 5 opportunities. Johnson and Doughty are playoff performers. The future is bright but let us not get ahead of ourselves. The tone of the comments after next game could be very different. If we continue to force play in their zone we will draw penalties.
[Reply]
Sit Fox
Call up Heidi!
