Doughty postgame quotes

Drew Doughty’s postgame thoughts…

(on the power-play success…)
DOUGHTY: “We’ve been working on it a lot in practice and we’ve been watching a lot of video. When you’re seeing the other team’s penalty kills, and you’re seeing their flaws, you kind of open those up. We’ve been working on it every day, so I think that’s why.”

(on whether the Kings have the Canucks’ penalty killers rattled…)
DOUGHTY: “I don’t know about that. We definitely found a few of their weaknesses, but now that they know that we found it, they’re probably going to straighten those out. So next game it could be a different story.”

(on whether there were some nerves at the start of the game…)
DOUGHTY: “Maybe. Those fans were going crazy before the game, and there was maybe a little bit of nervousness and a little bit of pressure got to us, but we came through and we were a lot better after those first couple minutes. After that, I thought that we were the best of the team for the rest of the game.”

Why wasnt JMFJ playing on the PP with Doughty for the whole season? I’m sure one of you brought it up earlier at some point.

Doughty is the 2nd coming of the ORR! ORR use do this stuff when he was 19! I see 100 pts years soon, like ORR. Plays good D like ORR did, Coffy was not as good on the D.

I was there and it was the loudest I’ve ever heard or seen with Stapler filled to the rafters and SRO announced. When the Kings scored it was pandemonium.

JJ wasn’t playing on the PP the whole season because quite frankly, before DL called out JJ’s coaches JJ sucked with a league worst plus/minus for a defensman -18.

From that point on, including the Olypics JJ stepped his game up to an entirely another level. Actually, closer to two levels better than earilier in the season.

I can’t imagine how good DD and JJ are gonna be next season.

If hockey doesn’t work out for DD, he can always go back to acting.

    Steve Holt! (Arrested Development).

Offince on the D, you can’t ask more….

We still have 20 Hickey, if he recovers from injury in Man!Then the 20 year old Valmov is there to. Both have great offinive talant for D

    The future is bright!

Doughty plays with such gusto, but sometimes I’d like to see him take it down a notch when he jumps into the middle of a scrum, lol. Love how he plays and I’m sure his teammates appreciate the fact that a franchise-level player is willing to stick up for them.

Interesting observation by Doughty – that the Canucks are now aware that the Kings know and can exploit their weaknesses at will. You can guess what they are going to be working on in practice today. I am not expecting a 3-3 PP in the next game, although I would LOVE to be wrong about that. GO KINGS!
