Morning?! I’m here refreshin’ like crazy to see what happens at practice… knowing full well that it doesn’t start for hours.
Sometimes it really sucks being a Kings fan living as far away on this Continent as possible, let me tell ya!
Thanks for the article though Rich. It’ll hold me over until practice. Great read!

How ‘Bout an auto-refresh button… Say, for every minute or 5 minutes?

@HeShootsNScores,
let me make it clear, that I like Brown, and want him to stay, and considering the fact that we’re on the brink of playoffs for the first time in 8 years, I think he’s doing a great job.

@HeShootsNScores, LOL. Exactly! The people calling for Brownie’s head are a bit premature, and they’re overlooking parts of Brownie’s game that don’t show up in the box score.

A bit off topic here but…… are we supposed to root for the Ducks tonight? It would pain me to do so but given the Standings it would make sense……..

@Dom,
If we do have to root for the Quacks in terms of standings, my only hope is they get the livin’ snot knocked out of them tonight and they are still sore and black and blue come Saturday.

@Dom,
…Continuing off topic…
I’m interested to hear who fellow King’s Fans hate the most.
I HATE every other Pacific team, but I would have to say for me, it’s Dallas… 2nd is Phoenix.
I can at least respect Anaheim only because they have a Stanley Cup ring. If it weren’t for that though, they would be at the top of my list.
Anyone else?

@kevin from toronto, you must have never had to watch a game on Fox/Prime Ticket and have to listen to the homers they have that call their game. Add to that they have corey fairy on their team, more reason to hate the sucks. bobby ryan wiping out Moller a couple months ago, more reason to hate the sucks. they have getz a laugh on their team, one more reason to hate them. finally, they are the sucks, and the sucks…suck. I really don’t mind the yotes,indifferent towards the stars, although now that they’ve got the crow as their coach, thats reason enough for me to not like them, eff the guppies too. I guess my list would be: sucks, guppies, stars, yotes.

@Dave in Torrance,
hahaha nice.
Well I’m from Canada, so I like Perry and love Getzlaf.
Every Kings game I watch is on Fox sportsnet. It is either on the King’s broadcast or on the other team’s.
Regardless, we have to hope Anaheim wins tonight. Moving south in the standings is not an option!

@Dom, Honestly, im rooting for the Avs. They are behind the Kings and still will be even if they win.

Thanks Rich! Brown is the man. I always knew he would be the best choice for captain after Blake left.
[Reply]
There can be moments where his offense can create a little bit of frustration, but how can you not like this guy? He really does have heart.

Rich 2 ? Which goalie would you start? are you finding it much harder to go thru all the extra posts that are here now!!!Thanks again!!!

nice read , RICH…
i just had a few questions…:
- out of curiosity, do you pre-pick yr interview/feature subjects ahead of time or do you decide on other types of criteria…?
- have you ever thought about doing taped interviews for the site…?…especially with dl, since he can probably give you a writer’s cramp transcribing his 10 minute responses…
thanks, again..

You guys need to check this out. Scroll down to “Parody Will Be Made: ads inspire Web sensaton”. Bout half way down the page. It’s the first time since 93 then someone has mentioned Marty McSorley and I got a good laugh out of it. It’s a brief Youtube clip. Must viewing for every Kings fan who remembers the _____ Game 2 of 93 finals.

@number 6, That whole incident was a conspiracy!!!
Too bad they didn’t have composite sticks then, Marty could have broke the damn thing and disposed of the evidence! It backfired on the Habs though, as they haven’t been back to the Fianls since then as well!

The decision is looking good now that Brown has made it through Phase A. It is still one of the two calls TM made last year that I questioned. Maybe the reward was worth the risk?

@jet, Out of curiosity, who would you have made the captain?
Brown was, at the time, the one who made the most sense based on the roster (to me at least).
He made the best case by showing up during the prospect camp to speak with those guys, and as a person, he probably has made more strides than anyone else on this roster (as a person, not a player).
There is more to being a captain than leading your team in scoring (not aiming this at you…more of a general statement).

Great article Rich!! Good for the Brownie haters to realized that it s all a growing up process!! What he s going through right now, good and bad, is what will make a true leader out of him!!So give the man with the biggest heart this franchise has ever known , time to reach that GOAL !!!
