Matt Greene will return to the Kings’ lineup tonight after missing three games with a still-undisclosed upper-body injury. He will replace Randy Jones, who is considered day-to-day with an elbow injury. Here’s what Greene said about his return, followed by Terry Murray’s explanation of Jones’ injury…
GREENE: “The trainers did a good job, and I’m going tonight. It’s tough to not play. You feel like you’re letting the guys down, not being out there. It’s a little bit easier to watch the team win. If you’re losing games, it wears on you a little bit. So it’s just good to get back and get a kick at the can with these guys.”
MURRAY: “He [Jones] fell, and his bursa sac split his elbow open, and it’s hanging out. So it’s that injury. So they have to cut the bursa sac off and it’s a very painful injury. I had that same thing, and I know exactly how he’s feeling. So he’s stiff, he’s sore, he’s on the medication and I want to put it as a day-to-day thing. It’s just a matter of it settling down a little bit here. Hopefully it does that today, and we’ll see where he’s at tomorrow. … He’s stiff and sore and not able to bend his arm enough, right now, to be able to go out and play.”
GO! MATT! GO!

@leo4kings,
Doesn’t the league want to make that a penalty punishable by death? (Hitting a guy with his head down)

Feel better, Jones!

@YeahWhatever,
I know I feel better. Take your time getting back. Draft day might be ideal.

Get well soon, RJ. (Soon being mid-June.) — Most Kings fans
Seriously, though, Randy Jones has looked better than Drewiske and Harrold lately, even defensively.
It’s nice to have Matt Greene back.

@PRMan,
Your right. Lately Jones does not look like the problem at all.

Greener is just a solid dude we can depend on. “Face time, bebe.” I bet the Kings win tonight, because we’re better with Greener in the lineup.

WTF,
I think TM needs a bit more emotion to get these losers animated. Something like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PrkR7ih6f3M&feature=youtube_gdata
And, what’s with the never-ending line-up changes! Pick the lines and let them get comfortable with each other and maybe we’ll get some consistency.

@Dean Youngblood, I see somebody else feels the same way about the officiating in hockey as I do. Even if I factor in variables like not being on the ice, still horrible. The Kings can’t get a call if Staples Center was on fire. Recently, a high stick to Brown, no call…Bob Miller ‘the ref was 3 feet away looking at the play and didnt call that”. Of topic yes, but bored at work.

@Dean Youngblood,
I love the reaction of the player to his right. That is, NO reaction. Maybe a spit for emphasis. I love hockey.
Then compare that to the player to his left.

Yup, Jones is definitely faking. I love conspiracy theories!

Maybe Jones shouldn’t practice while shining Dean and TM’s shoes…

get better in June! wooooooo hoooooo…….we should win!

I dont like to see players hurt but I am glad ta see Jones out.I dont think he has been playing good recently. Also, although plus minus doesnt always mean anything I think even Jack Johnson would tell you that a minus 19 on this team is completely unacceptable especially when you consider his speed and stick handling ability. And before you say he plays a lot of minutes, well so does Drew Doughty and he is a plus 17 and he plays against other teams best lines as well…get it together soon JJ !

When you hurt your sac you need at least two weeks to control the swelling. The sac and it’s parts are very tender to the touch.

I like Jonesy. But even if I didn’t, it’s pretty low to kick a guy when he’s down. Even if its not a serious injury, have some class with the comments. Get better soon!
