    Some love being sent Doughty’s way by the Blues broadcast team, includinf Darrwn Pang, and Bernie Federko. Among other things they said there is a Norris trophy with Drews name on it waiting for him in the future….

    @Belexes, That’s nice. BTW I’m enjoying this figure skating contest. Pretty neat.

    For all Randy Jones bashers, I hope you are happier with Drewsky! He is making Jones look like Norris trophy candidate will those give aways. Speaking of weak, what’s with simmonds? Is he hurt or just in a really bad slump?

    @Rock, Yeah, I remember not long ago our PP was actually starting to look up.

    @Rock,
    Dude, I shouldn’t even respond to your comments quite honestly. I mean, our ‘superb’ powerplay is 6th in the nhl hitting for quite some time at a 40% clip. No, not FOUR percent….FORTY. This is exactly why I’m losing my patience with this site!!

    @number 6,
    Also, they scored the tying goal last night on a PP and had 2 PP goals. So they don’t score on two consecutive PP’s. Not the end of the world.

    @number 6, I don’t think the Kings power play is bad, you just can’t argue with the numbers. They are top 10 in the league. For whatever reason we look horrible on 5-3 situations.(blackhawks are last in the league in 5 on 3 goals last i checked) People just see a simple power play which does it’s job but not in a fancy way and are fooled. You know how it is, people will forget the day b4 how the power play tied the game and got us a point with two power play goals in the 3rd period but they’ll remember if we don’t get one today and lose out on a point.

    @number 6,

    I have the same frustration with the constant goaltending complaints. Somehow 2 on 1′s are always the goalie’s fault.

    Many people don’t seem to comprehend long-term thinking. To 75% of the site, nothing good happened in the previous 20 minutes, therefore everything (everyone) sucks. And this isn’t exclusive to this site, I live in Edmonton, and most of the fans are the exact same way. I hate to seem like an elitest, but I think that train of thought just comes from not watching enough hockey to realize that there are ebbs and flows to a season. Quick has actually stolen games for us this year, and I’m not sure he’s lost too many for us.

    Action, beautifully put…. and I agree wholeheartedly.

    @Rock,

    Tonight’s PP doesn’t look like it could score with a 4-man advantage. They aren’t coping well with a moderately aggressive Blues PK so far.

    Every game is the same except one game against the crappy Blue Jackets since the olympic break. Are these guys ALL tired and done? Are we gonna limp into the playoffs and get swept? This is getting really tiring.

    Jonathan Reply:

    @Alen, fair enough, but how can you describe the team’s performance during the 3rd period last night as anything but what we hope they demonstrate on the ice every night. We were buzzing in overtime, and most would admit that had the overtime been longer than 5 minutes we would have gotten the eventual goal. Unfortunately, EE just doesn’t have the skills when it comes to the shootout.

    We’re down by a goal – anyone of you who expects the Kings to exit every first period with a 4 goal margin, especially after getting into their hotel at 3 AM last night following a full game and a flight, need to check their expectations.

    Alen Reply:

    @Jonathan, Nobody wants a 4-0 lead, I just want them to come out and play like they did in the 3rd yesterday in the 1st ONE game. Maybe it’s the whole we are bored of the regular season and want the playoffs to start already syndrome teams like the Spurs/Lakers get in the NBA but we aren’t that good.

    RYC Reply:

    @Alen,

    Playing a full 60-minute game is out of the question again tonight. Hopefully they can manage 40 minutes of playing.

    I guess it takes a weak period and the lack of a lead to get the boys going. That’s not a playoff caliber mentality if you ask me. If the team skates like the third period of the last game they’re an unbeatable team. If they keep starting games this way, well be watching baseball come mid April.

    Does the coaching staff hate Jack Johnson?

    JJ has not played one minute of 5 on 3 not one why not give it a shot it has been well documented our 5 on 3 is one of the worst. Stoll continues to play on the first unit has not scored in 18 games wow. Murray praises Frolov yet Brown who is awful offensively plays on the 5 on 3 really? Back to JJ why is he almost always with the worst d-man Jones OD now Drewisky great play davis on the first goal another minus for JJ guaranteed everyone on here will complain about jj plus minus what should he have done there? Starting to think JJ is fed up with the coaching staff he is starting to look dis- interested and in fact i would too this coaching staff has a double standard.

    If I’m Terry Murray, I flip the training table over in the locker room, stare at the team, and walk out. They need some emotion, and they need some urgency. Quick could have been better on that goal, but that was a team breakdown starting in the other end. The power play needs to be far less predictable if they’re going to be successful.

    A lot of time left, and by no means are the Kings out of this one, but the Blues look like a team that believes it can still make the playoffs, and the Kings look like they’re heading the other way.

    Time to pull their heads out and play like a playoff team.
