After a video review, the Blues regained a two-goal lead. Paul Kariya picked up a rebound in front of the Kings’ net, and Randy Jones attempted to keep the puck out of the net, but a video review showed that Jones kicked the puck out after it had crossed the line.

@Gino, Yep, it is a bad luck charm. When the fishhook replaced the broken stick the Kings were a .700 team. Since the fishhook has cometh, we are a .500 team.

Seriously that wasnt Jones’ fault. If anything he was our last line of defense on that play as Quick didn’t know where the puck was. Now were on the PK. Can’t win every game guys. We will be in the playoffs and have success. I believe! GO KINGS GO!

All the poor coaching decisions, plans, etc are coming back to haunt them now. It will be a miracle if the kings hold on to the last playoff spot the way they are playing. Start planning for the draft.

The last few games they have not come out ready to play…it’s that simple. No overanalizing here people…just plain complacency. You want to win…everyone needs to play hard…however…there is a bit of a change in the intensity with which Quick is playing…he just seems a little un-focused…hmmmm.

Didn’t Colorado play last night and they are giving Nashville a hard time. The Kings can’t even beat a non-playoff team that also played the night before.

The Kings are headed for the 8th or 9th spot.

I don’t want to hear they were tired. The Blues were tired too after playing yesterday and flying home. No excuses. The Kings didn’t arrive out of the gate. Coming back in the 3rd worked against the Av’s but sooner or later the Kings have to be the team that establishes the tempo from second 1.

@Mike C, Gee, I was under the impression that hockey was a sixty minute game….not just the third period.And TM, stop juggling the lines!!! Put your ego aside and talk to the team leaders and get their input on line combos…and then stick with it.

Let’s face it, the Kings are not playing good hockey and the playoffs right around the corner. It looks like the Kings are in cruise control while teams like Phoenix and Nashville are warming up.

It is amazing that people are making excuses for this team. They are average just like their record out of the Olympics which they are below average.

Please take a deep breath and relax. Teams win, teams lose. Even top teams lose games (hello San Jose). Even bad teams win games (hello Islanders).

This team is making the playoffs. Which no matter how you cut it is a step up from last year and shows how much this organization has come with TM and DL at the helm.

I for one cant wait to see our guys in the post season. And any ‘true’ Kings fans out there will be cheering at the top of their lungs one things get started.

@LomitaKingsFan, No one here is saying that they aren’t fans anymore dude. It’s frustrating when you know this team is capable of alot more and when they show up with no effort until the last 20 minutes and anybody who is a true Kings fan SHOULD be upset about the way they are playing this late in the season especially if you’ve been a life long Kings fan and havn’t seen them make the playoffs in 8-9 years. It’s the way we lost these games that that is frustrating. We need to give the effort we give in the 3rd period of the last two games for the entire 60 minutes. If we play like that for the whole game we will be one of the most dangerous teams come playoff time, but not until then.

And LOL@ all those blaming Quick on the 3rd goal. He robs Kariya point blank, and the rebound takes a bad bounce and somehow ends up in the net (Halpern probably should have cleared it).

I’m not saying Johnny Q was fantastic tonight, but by no means did we lose because of him. We had plenty of chances to tie it, just couldn’t get it done.

Plain and simple we suck right now. Everyone needs to stop making excuses. We don’t show up for a game until the 3rd period and if you want to win especially on the road you have to come out from the very beginning of the game and play with that desperation. We are playing uninspired and undisciplined hockey right now and it’s biting us in the a**…We can’t even beat the Blues, it’s absolutely pathetic. if we don’t turn it around right now we will end up 8th in the conference. Someone needs to step up right now for this team and say something! I hate hearing the coaches and the players in postgame quotes say “Well, we kind of just get the feeling on the bench like we know what we need to do.” Really? If you did you would do something about it! Someone needs to say that this ends now! It would be one thing if we played a full 60 minutes and got beat, but when the only people to blame are yourselves then you obviously have a problem and that is exactly what is going on. We are losing games because we are taking way too many penalties, we get much too overconfident, and goals being scored against are just complete breakdowns. It is something to worry about with 9 games left in the season. We play 2 great games and then we let up AGAIN! Hopefully this gets resolved and fast or we have a rude awakening coming. Pull it together boys!
