Blues 2, Kings 0

The Blues pushed their lead to 2-0 at the 1:06 mark of the second period. St. Louis forced the puck away in the neutral zone, and Keith Tkachuk came up the right side on the counter-attack. His shot hit traffic, but T.J. Oshie was there, in front of the net, to knock the rebound past Quick.

    we need moller back.

    [Reply]

    Arron Reply:

    @jkking,

    This slide can be directly attributed to Moller. He wasn’t willing to give that extra to stick around and it is costing us points in the standings. I mean if you are not a part of the solution you are apart of the problem.

    Before you jump all over me I WAS JOKING!!!

    Another early period goal against Quick. WAKE UP, QUICK!

    [Reply]

    sasKing Reply:

    @Keeper,

    Figured as much. Not even a mention of the poor backchecking on the play. How was Oshie so wide open? Think about that one.

    [Reply]

    Action Reply:

    @sasKing,

    Take your sense-making comments elsewhere. A forward was back on D, didn’t play the situation properly, but trust me, it’s somehow Quick’s fault.

    [Reply]

    Keeper Reply:

    @Action, Last line of defense. Period. When all else fails, Quick has to stop the puck. Make sense?

    Keeper Reply:

    @sasKing, Quick is the last line of defense. I can’t count how many times this season Quick has been scored on at the very beginning or end of a period.

    [Reply]

    lenman Reply:

    @Keeper, Oh please!!! The Kings look absolutely horrible tonight and no one wants to shoot the puck. So blame Quick just like always. Without him we would never be in the position we are in right now. The Kings actually have a chance to make the playoffs.

    Action Reply:

    @sasKing,

    No. It doesn’t make sense. Goals will go in, plain and simple. Perhaps you expect a shutout every game?

    I’ll give you this: He does look like he’s fighting the puck a bit tonight, but I would never catagorize either goal as soft.

    [Reply]

    Keeper Reply:

    @Action, I don’t expect a goal every game. That would just be stupid thinking. But by watching Quick all season, I do expect him to get scored on very early/end of any period. Just sucks is all.

    It looks like he fights the puck on more games than this one.

    [Reply]

    JP Reply:

    @Action,

    No I am complaining about the fact that you think he is one of the best in the league DD is very good and one day he maybe the best however the media has blown him out up way bigger then he is right now he is young and still makes a lot of mistakes especially since the olympics he has looked tired. But no one seems to notice that.

    [Reply]

    Action Reply:

    @JP,

    It’s not me that thinks it. It’s everyone. Because he is. Yeah, that was a bad turnover, but he was excellent in both Colorado games. When you play 25 minutes a night, bad things will happen from time to time.

    But Drew is at the very least top 5 in the NHL and that is undeniable regardless of how pissed off you are.

    Masked Man Reply:

    @Action, I don’t think he’s THE best defenseman in the league. I think we’re all surprised at how much talk he’s gotten for Norris.

    –Are the Kings playing well?–

    Kings will be playing either, as the road team (potential seventh game):

    Phoenix
    Chicago
    Vancouver
    San Jose

    No way to control the order of the top four finish. The first round matchups are a crapshoot. Order of Kings’ finish is almost irrelevant, as long as THEY ARE IN THE PLAYOFFS!

    Kings will make the play-offs but will end up being knock out in 1st round if they don’t elevate their game sooner. This game is showing their immaturity. They are still not good enough. Where is the leadership? Where is the proper guidance? They desperately need to be disciplined.
