The teams exchanged goals in short order in the first period.
Colorado took a 1-0 lead when Matt Hendricks walked out and fired a shot from a tough angle that goalie Jonathan Quick couldn’t cover before it went into the net at the 7:38 mark.
At exactly the 10:00 mark, the Kings tied the game. Wayne Simmonds wheeled and shot from the right boards, and while goalie Craig Anderson was prone, Anze Kopitar picked up the rebound and scored on a sharp backhand for his career-best 33rd goal of the season.
Nice goal by Jack Johnson!

@Michael,
Went off Johnson’s skate just as Quick reached out for it.

That was Quincey’s stick that lifted Richie’s stick into his face.

Quick doesn’t look too sharp thus far. Didn’t cover the first one very quickly and that one he wasn’t as quick to cover the lower as he normally would. I hope the team can pick it up some for him tonight.
