In all fairness to Quick, Murray, JMFJ, and the rest of the Kings, that’s 3 blown calls by the refs. Quincey lifts Richie’s stick, OD has a clean hit, not a cross-check, and JMFJ’s clean hit speaks for itself.

Since when did a questionable high sticking double minor penalty get caused by not coping with the pace of the game? They controlled the first period 5v5. They just had some unlucky penalties.

ya, this game is done before it started, it’s really awful how refs can literally dictate the outcome of an NHL game, or any major sport for that matter. It’s a disgrace, plain and simple. The JJ penalty was ridiculous, at least call it roughing, not boarding you stupid goofs, and then the OD cross check? are you serious lol, i didn’t even see him use his stick in that situation, last but not least, that joke of a high sticking penalty by richardson, how the fugg can you call that when clearly quincey elevated richie’s stick.

Wow … I thought Kings had the best start and then in all of sudden, those penalties piled up. Richie, JJ, DD all unfortunate but OD clearly hit the number of Avs player and Modin’s penalty both were bonehead play. Stop just standing and waving around the stick. Move your feet. I understand both are veteran and having a hard time to breath in the high altitude city but this is 4 points game on the line guys.
[Reply]
Hopefully Ersberg can hold them in and get a win. After all he is probably in the twilight of his career with the Kings.
[Reply]
Folks, relax!
The pressure in this game is on Colorado, not the Kings.
If the Kings come back and win this game, they are 3-0 against the Avs going into the season-ender.
All the breaks in the world have gone the Avs way, so far. The refs probably will be evening up the calls in the second period. The score could be much, much worse than 1-3.
Get a goal, settle the game down, watch the Avs clutch up.

[Reply]
This is gonna be out of character for me, but this game is so fucked up I can’t stand it.
Hockey is a thinking athletes game, and tonight the Kings look like a bunch of goddamn idiots.
Dustin Brown, two flubs in d-zone with zero pressure and lots of time, both lead to extended pressure against. Clear the damn puck. His highlight of the entier period? An OBVIOUS shot from the circle directly and inavoidably into a stationary Avalanche shin pad. Shoot the damn puck or pass the damn puck, or get it low. Learn how to f’ing stickhandle again or sit it out.
Jack Johnson; we have a goalie, let him take the pucks in the crease, and you handle the man and his stick.
Quick; what the hell are you doing constantly flopping forward onto your stomach, you look like you are trying to avoid radar detection by presenting the lowest possible profile. Stay upright and block the goddamn shot, THEN scramble only if you have to. Stop diving to try for the cover play, by the time you get there three sticks have had a whack at it.
Modin; Please try to forget the failed clears from last game, and bounce the motherfucker off the boards or glass, or even eat the puck and block out the Av while your partner takes the puck. That is our system. And speaking of system, why are you latying off the point man when he has possession on the power play, get your ass out there to pressure him so he can’t get the shot through. System, remember? Pressure the point and block the slong shot, force possession to the boards and then block the cross passes. Let them stand there and look around, but cover the point and block the lanes.
Doughty; What is with the gauranteed penalty on the downslash? We don’t do downslashes like that, unless we are Wayne Simmonds last game. That was the last time we did that, remember the talk? Lift the dudes stick, don’t break yours over his. If yours doesn’t break you go to the box anyway. And while you are at it, think about that lost possession on the rush at center, almost went the other way against us with numners. And tell Harrold that when you stay down low in the O-zone, he needs to cover your ass at the point.
You guys better wake up and play smart, this was SAD.
