Avalanche 3, Kings 1

The Avalanche scored another power-play goal with 1:52 remaining in the first period. Drew Doughty broke his stick and was playing with Michal Handzus’ stick when Paul Stastny centered a puck. Doughty tried to push the puck behind the net but put it right into his own net.

Erik Ersberg then replaced Quick, who stopped 13 of 16 shots.

    @mattmonforton,

    Swa your crack about Johnson having a “nice goal” when he accidentally knocked it in on Quick. So, Doughty gets a pass when he does the same thing? And you blame Johnson?!?! I can’t figure out people like you.

    I really wish I was watching the LA feed of this game instead of the Colorado feed. Their announcers are ridiculous.

    So when does it start becoming the coaches fault when this team never seems to come out and play prepared or with any sort of discipline? Atleast Quick won’t be tired 2morrow.

    Mike L Reply:

    @Alen,

    Yeah because murray can control delay of game penalties and 4 min minors when your stick is lifted. etc. He pulled quick to keep him rested and to send a message to the kings to umm you know not go into the box.

    @Alen,
    Probably the same time the coach straps them on and takes the penalties and makes the mistakes on the ice.

    @Alen,
    i gotta say – most of these penalties are not mistakes – it’s just literally being unlucky

    My thoughts exactly!
    But games which start like this often turn later on.

    Bet the Kings get back in this game.

    Only an idiot would think this was on Quick, and the idea to “shake things up” cost the Kings the shootout.
