Them again?

The Kings-Avalanche mini-series continues tomorrow in Denver, in the back end of a home-and-home set. Terry Murray talked today about what he anticipates being different with tomorrow’s game…

MURRAY: “Probably line matchups will be a little bit of a different look, I think. Duchene against Kopi, they might want to get away from that. It’s hard to know what other coaches are going to think. We’ll just have to play that by ear and adjust as the game gets going. I don’t mind if we have a different look, with Kopi and Stastny. I even feel comfortable with Stolly out there. Whatever it might be, that would be fine on the lines. To me, the back end is very important. If we can get Scuderi and Doughty out there against their premier lines, then that would be the most important part.”

    Last night was close. We need to get at least 1 point. I’m thinking we will get 2. Wouldn’t be surprised if Colorado got 1 point, though.

    I was actually quite impressed with the Avs last night. They played hard, aggressive hockey. Had some very nice breakouts, and good control in our zone at times. They look to me like a very well coached team. It is gonna be a dogfight tomorrow.

    Speaking of Doughty, they were just speaking of his goal on xm nhl home ice…. they say even in slo mo you can hardly see the puck – and he said if you haven’t seen it, then you should check it out on the nhl site.

    @number 6, I was at the game and it was a lasser. Also note that Smyth is the bravest guy in the world to stand at that net with that incoming rocket.

    I sure would’ve had to change MY jockstrap after that blast.

    @number 6, that was a bullet, the sound was so good when the puck hit something inside the net.

    Terry Murray is a sly dog, he’ll get that Jones-Greene pairing on the ice as soon as Colorado’s top line finishes a shift, he almost always has the right defensive pair out there, home ice or not.
    Part of this can be attributed to Harpo too, and what a job the PK has been doing lately!

    @NMKingsFan,
    yeah, it’s a bit odd. Early in the season the PK was awful, PP average and 5on5 pretty good. Now it seems to have flipped on it’s head.

    I was impressed with the Av’s speed, but if they want to get into a physical game with this Kings roster, they don’t stand a chance.

    Figures.

    It’s just starting to snow here, and it’s expected to continue snowing right through tomorrow and well past the end of the game. Sorry you guys are going to have to trek through the mud and snow the whole time you’re here. Spring snow is the worst!

    Here’s hoping the snow ends earlier than it’s supposed to and your plane out isn’t delayed, since you’ll have to play St. Louis in less than 24 hours.

    Wish I could afford to go to the game, but it looks like I’l be a shut-in anyway. I’ll have to make sure and clear a path to the satellite dish so I can keep whacking it with a broom.

    It was almost laughable how much Kopi dominated Duchene on the boards. He basically threw him around like a rag doll all night.

    Does anyone know if the Kings were able to get into Denver tonight? I saw on the news there is a major snow storm in Denver tonight/tomorrow. We need them to be rested to get another 2 points tomorrow and Thursday.
