Everyone getting ready for USA-Canada? Check back soon, and we’ll do a live chat here during the game.
Practice is ongoing now in El Segundo, with 4-on-4 drills. Dustin Brown, Michal Handzus and Jonathan Quick will be back in L.A. tonight and will fly to Dallas with the team tomorrow. Drew Doughty and Jack Johnson will fly from Vancouver to Dallas tomorrow.
Is Drew allowed on Jack’s plane this time….?

@wavesinair,
I was suggesting you might want to wear Kevlar… or stay inside for a while AFTER CANADA LOSES! By the way, Am I bad for wanting to see Doughty go ass-over backwards just once today? Line him up DB.

LOL, stay inside!? I’m gonna blare this song from the rooftop and sing it to the whole neighborhood! Hahah.
Re: Doughty, I definitely do NOT want to see any Kings player get hurt though! But as for DB lining up DD, I doubt it…

Helluva game. Congratulations Canada on a hard fought, close game.

I’ll wager that this will be the most watched hockey game ever!
I’m more than ready for this game, I’m so excited. I can only imagine how pumped up the players are.
Bring home the GOLD Team USA!
And as an added bonus, JJ and Brownie, both put one in the net. Doughty too, as long as we are ahead.

Gonna pass on the live chat during game, but enjoy it all you guys, kind of a dream ending to what I think has been the best winter games ever. Not just the record medal counts for both Canada and USA, but the coverage of the actual competition, the athletes, and the international diversity with S. Korean skaters emerging to join the Eastern Europians and North Americans. Sport is good, better now than ever.
USA USA USA USA USA

O say can you see
by the goal judge red light
That Luongo has failed
to stop Brownies long screaming
celebrating like stars
after glorious flight
o’er the ramparts he shot
and went gallantly skating
now the goal lights red glare
his arms thrust in the air
gafe proof of his might
that the puck was in there
O say was that shot better
than the attempted save
Now the land of the free
has the gold that we crave.

Rich… Where is practice in Dallas tomorrow? Is it open?
And I have a free parking pass to the game Tuesday if anyone wants it.

The True North strong and free!
From far and wide, O Canada,
We stand on guard for thee.
God keep our land glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

The most annoying thing about the USA loss…Sid scoring the game winner. He was invisible the entire game, then NBC was able to make it all about Crosby. And whats with the underlay audio track of the goal horn used randomly throughout the broadcast? At least they played the game live.

re: horn
I believe the arena kept playing back the 2 canadian goals on the jumbotron. Perhaps to distract and annoy the other team. Strange though. I think I heard it about 10 times.

@wavesinair,
Same here. That was quite annoying.
@uknojata,
If Canada was going to win, I would wanted Doughty to score the winner. Would have been a nice silver lining to the loss. But since it wasn’t Doughty, I’m glad it was Crosby. Talk about a walking, living, story book. The guy becomes the youngest captain to win the Cup, then scores the gold medal winner IN Canada to bring back the gold. You cant make that stuff up. I’m trying to think of a US equivelant in any sport and I cant.
[Reply]
Yeah, I wanted to keep it positive, but it would have been far more tolerable if Cindy Crosby had stayed shut out.
