Where are they?

Where are some of the Kings spending the Olympic break? Sean O’Donnell planned a trip to Hawaii, while Oscar Moller was going to stay home in Southern California and take care of his and his roommates’ Labrador puppy. Terry Murray was on his way back to the New England area to visit his daughters. There were a couple other trips planned, but it seemed as though most folks were staying close to home, since practice starts up again (for the non-Olympians) on Wednesday afternoon in El Segundo.

Would be nice to hear they’re throwing in a scrimmage or two. Way to fight the rust.

    Luc-

Anything along those lines would have to be done by the players on their own. The teams are not allowed to do any sort of activity (practice, scrimmage, training) until next Wednesday.

I wonder if TM is going to be visiting Bernier as well, kid is having a heckuva year.

What’s everyone else up to Rich?

I have to admit, I am pretty happy Kopi is getting some much needed rest for the stretch run, he’s key and it will be beneficial to him.

Thanks, I was not aware. Just as long as we’re not losing ground on the rest of the pack…

Rich, I hope you’re getting some rest too, thanks for keeping us updated.

I think (if I remember correctly) that Moller lives with Purcell and Simmonds…I know Simmonds is definately a roommate, but not entirely sure about Purcell.

I’m pretty positive that Doughty and Simmonds live together, so I’m guessing that Moller lives with them now too…?

I read some place (don’t recall where) that Doughty and Simmons live together and they are known as salt and pepper.

Given the way the Canadiens played last night, I’d be a bit worried if I were a fan.

If I came across Doughty, Simmonds and Moller walking a labrador puppy, I would be able to die a happy girl right on the spot.

You are right about that Van…a win is a win, and the game on Sunday is the one that matters anyway…the US still needs to shore up the defense.

It is nice to see JJ playing so well though…he’s getting a ton of ice time.

I wonder if I will see Terry Murray in Manchester next week. I’m really looking forward to those three games. Last time I was there I saw then Blues coach Andy Murray, and we had a great chat about the defensive Johnsons… Ah, New Hampshire in February… call me crazy, but I’m in need of a good hockey fix, and for me the Olympics on cable just doesn’t cut it.

Coverage has been hard to watch, so just keeping an eye on scores. Sure it will get louder during medal games.

mrbrett7 – Found your comments about Johnson’s play interesting after seeing him ripped by an SI writer who is at the Olympics. I haven’t seen any of the action yet – anyone else have a view on how JJ is playing? The SI writer thought he was taking lots of stupid chances, and blamed him for a couple of outnumbered attacks Norway got. Will be happy to hear that the SI guy was full of it.

Simmonds and Moeller were roomies with Quincey last year and lived in Cammalleri’s home. Not sure if Simmonds is still living there with Doughty and Moeller.

Rich, any chance we could get more coverage on Moller and his puppy?

  27. Nitrohockey says:

JJ has been playing well, but the assesment of his play regarding the Norway game is correct also. He, as well as the rest of the US defense got caught too far in which led to too many chances for Norway. Also, the forwards didn’t read the play and come back to help out once they saw the defense pinch in that far. I think Rafalski was the only one who didn’t get caught like that. It was a communication breakdown, once they go over it in the video review, I’m sure they’ll be back on track. Well, I hope so anyway. Canada will bury them if they play that way on Sunday.
