Can you imagine how pissed we’d all be right now if they had picked Anderson to the Olympic team instead of the very deserving JQ? Great win to cap off the best season for us in years!

Make us proud Brownie, JJ and Jon! Go USA!

Great win by the Kings, one of their best performances of the year.

Bad call with Scuds, but what are you gonna do?

Don’t know if the Kings would have played as well if, say, Colorado came into this game 15th in the Conference.

Watched the game on Altitude, and Haynes and McNab mentioned on the telecast that Sakic has been giving some consideration recently about coming out of retirement this season to make one more run.

Will be interesting to see how this unfolds.

Amazing to see that the Kings are ranked 5th overall in the entire NHL right now, and yet are 5th in the West and only 3rd in their own division. Wow the Pacific is strong.

I have to agree, REM, the game was sooo much better than the past few; it reminded me of the Kings road game mentality and system. It’s very strong that the Kings do not go too long at any stretch with playing poorly, usually at the most 2-3 games, and then the get right back on track. It’s a sign of a team maturing into a perpetual contender.
Godspeed all the Kings Olympians, have fun and no one get hurt!

    Brown, belligerent? Nahhhhh, lol ;)

yea that call on Scuds was way weak! I’m okay with 2-minutes, but definitely not 5 when you see some of the stuff they let go or only give 2 for…

GREAT all-round game, from start to finish, very well done boys!!!

Zeus, JJ, Brownie, Quicker & Dr. Drew, have a blast!!! The rest of you enjoy your 2-weeks off!

The Kings came out focused tonight and played a great 3 periods. Excellent win. I’ve read a lot of negative stuff about Moeller. The kid is 20 years old and looks to me like he’s getting better every game. He can flat out shoot and I think he’s going to grow into a very productive player

  28. YOACH says:

Good game tonight by everybody , they made the SO by Quick look easy. Most entertaining aspect was acting job by Durno on Scuds bogus major followed by getting to the ice as quick as possible when Ivanans went after him. What a punk. Enjoy the break and now it’s GO USA GO

  29. goldielocks says:

That was Kings hockey right there. Never break down, digging and grinding deep. Excellent!

Did you guys see Quick was still focusing on the puck after his mask was blown off? (he didn’t even blink) That was truly amazing. I really think Quick should be team USA’s starter.

i’m happy to say….I’m glad jonesy played great. there wasn’t ONE time he stressed me tonight. great one all ’round boys. Play like that every night and who can beat us?

    [Reply]

  33. Kingsfanone says:

Now THAT is the kind of game I think they can play every nite……if they want to. Very nice game boys!!!
Playing like that, no team can beat them, and they have had better games this year too, so what does that mean for them?

  34. jet says:

I thought the Scuds call was correct, but I was accross the ice.

The only issue I had with Jones was the length of his shifts in the second period (his far side). I believe he had the longest average shift time of any player in the second period. You may have to back out his last shift, as he was on the ice to end the period. At least once he could have gotten off after 30 or so seconds, but stayed out. He had to battle through another Aves attack and cycle. Otherwise he played a much smarter game than the past few.

    [Reply]

  35. Kingsfanone says:

That call was made on Scuds probably because the player laid unmoving on the ice for a couple seconds and didn’t get up right away. That may have swayed the ref into calling a major maybe? On replay, it really didn’t look like he pushed him that hard, I thought, but the replay I saw was in slow mo though, so I could be wrong.

  36. Kingsfanone says:

Hey, and as for last season they had a total of 79 points and they already have 78, it doesn’t matter because the only thing that DOES matter is they come out of break playing like they want to win the Cup. Especially since there was no break last year, no compressed schedule, and this team had a seasons less experience.
That this team has “grown up” is the important thing, as well as the support DL has placed in them by not trading any of the core group away, like he promised.

GO KINGS GO!!! My thoughts as a huge fan in Vegas of tonights game and the rest of the season, and the pending trade deadline coming on the 3rd.

I think the guy Scuds hit took a bit of a dive, but good call none the less by the referee. I think Durno, after nailing a few of our players in the head, like he got hit, should have been ejected from the game. He looked like he was out to attack our players and not care about the game itself. Ivanans did a good job tonight, in defending our player. Granted he aint the greatest player in the world, but atleast hes standing up for the team, which is what DL wanted!!! Congrats to Clune for his first-ever point and two-point game in the NHL. Anze, had an excellent goal. Quick was awesome, including that save with the mask, and Moller had a good goal. Scuds made up for his hit and 5 min major by an excellent shot, for Richardson to get us up 1-0. This year the Kings are a record breaking team, lets go win the cup. As far as the trades go, I say trade noone, unless absolutely necessary. The Kings are awesome this year, and breaking the foundation or these lines that are used to each other would hurt. Thinking on it now, maybe a trade for someone to fit Williams spot, since hes out for who knows how long, maybe the rest of the season, maybe thats the only trade I could see, other than that I say NO TRADE!!!! Out of the 21 games left, with the way the Kings have been playing, I see us going on another record winning streak. I see us winning 17 out of the 21. For now, thats all I can say, but GO KINGS GO….GO KINGS GO….GO KINGS GO!!!!

Good Luck to Team USA in the Olympics, and to all of the Kings players. Stay safe and come back healthy!!

Enjoy your break boys, you deserve it!! Come back strong and play strong!!!

I hope when the playoffs start, I want San Jose in 1st place, and I want them to be Destroyed by whoever gets into 8th place, because if they fall again this year in round one, there will be a mass implosion, and you can bet that they will completely tear the team apart from the ground up!
