Brown postgame quotes

Dustin Brown’s postgame thoughts…

(on the win…)
BROWN: “Obviously, this game result is better and we feel better. The important thing is that the start of our game has not been good as of late.  Tonight I thought we had a really good start… We have been able to play good seconds and thirds lately, so to come out and have a good first was important for us tonight.  We carried it on through; we got a big power-play goal in the beginning of the third.  We played a pretty solid game start to finish.”

(on going into the Olympic break…)
BROWN: “We have 10 days to decompress and we have to be ready to go.  The Olympic break is a tough thing to do, especially when you are not playing.  I think it is probably easier for the five guys who are going to the Olympics.  If anything, the intensity might pick up for those guys, but for the guys who are not going it is important for them to focus.  Obviously get away from the game, but take care of themselves.  It can take a toll on you having that much time off. Being away from this type of atmosphere for the extended period of time is difficult and we have to be ready to come back.”

Aside from the two obviouslies, Brownie’s got it right. Let’s hope these guys rest up but come back ready to play.

I think Brownie had one of his best games last night. Yes, he didn’t get a point, but he was hitting, shooting and moving the puck all 3 periods. He showed why he wears the “C”.

Brownie could say “obviously” ten times then mutter “two points” and that would be good enough for me!
