I just checked out the OC Register’s blog. The Ducks fans over there are brutal.

The common theme with the Ducks fans is that they only lost the previous games vs the Kings because they played our boys on the second of a back-to-back night and weren’t as rested as the Kings.

Carlyle is pushing that theme pretty hard as well.

Makes the loss even more tough to swallow.

I’m not too concerned that they lost. A lot of this momentum goes in cycles. Peaks and valleys and the timing of them. As long as they make the playoffs, hopefully all the stars will align and they will peak during that time. It doesn’t matter if they finish first in the conference and lose in the playoffs (SJ). That’s gotta be frustrating. It’s like a horse race, that 3rd or 4th place horse just sits in the pocket and then turns on the jets on the home stretch. The team can’t burn itself out and kill themselves just for a higher placement in the standings. Play steady, get in the playoffs and then go nuts. The cup to LA sure would be nice!!!!

I agree that the effort wasn’t there, for the most part anyway, last night. One thing that really stood out to me was the atrocious passing – especially on the Power Play. The guys weren’t giving each other much of a chance to receive, much less control, the puck.

Granted, the two goals were the exceptions – both were really spectacular.

Even with our poor play, we might’ve still come back and won if Quick stopped the Quacks 4th goal.

Oh well, Quick stopped everything in the 3rd period, when we finally woke up a bit. We have to look at the overall Kings’ play, and most of the time it lacked the intensity that we had other games.

Mine will be the one in front of Hockey Canada PLace!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry, but in a few days i have 17 day vacation from work and some international gathering is going on outside my front door.
