Davis Drewiske will return to the Kings’ lineup tonight, in place of Peter Harrold, as Jack Johnson’s partner. That leaves the Kings with the lineup they practiced with yesterday, basically…
Smyth-Kopitar-Brown
Richardson-Stoll-Simmonds
Frolov-Handzus-Parse
Ivanans-Moller-Segal
Scuderi-Doughty
Johnson-Drewiske
O’Donnell-Greene
It was an optional skate this morning, and Jonathan Quick took the option to rest, but he will start tonight. More from the skate to come…
lineup looks nice.
[Reply]
Works for me. Let’s roast some Duck!
[Reply]
if i remember correctly…last time quicker took a rest he was dynamite in the game…no problems there!
[Reply]
I guess we need Ivanans for the obligatory fight with Parros, but jeez – can’t we do better than this guy???
[Reply]
It was a good run by Harry. Excellent contribution to the team. I love his heart and effort. Hang tough.
As for the Purse…go shopping?
(i kid, i kid)

I’m excited to see how the Kings respond to this Freeway Faceoff. I’m sure the Ducks want revenge, so it will be a great game. Lets make 10 in a row!!!
[Reply]
I hope the guys remember what happened in the 3rd of the last game. You cant let up with the Ducks. They are a hungry team right now and breaking our streak means more to them than the ‘W’ at this point. This should be a hard fought game.
[Reply]
I can’t wait to watch. All we need is Williams back and we’ll be 100% healthy! Hopefully we’ll go to 10 tonight!
[Reply]
nice lineup, i like it
[Reply]
I like it. This is going to be a tough game tonight, but I’m glad we’re back on the road (even if it is only down the freeway). Hopefully the team will get back to making smart simple plays. Need to come out strong to start the game. No 10 minute mental lapses.
[Reply]
“get back to making smart simple plays”
No doubt. Especially on D. Put your stick in the passing lane Simmer!
[Reply]
MICHAL HANDZUS
“I can talk, or not. I don’t mind. It doesn’t matter. The last couple of days I do a little more interview but I’m sure it’s going to slow down and obviously there’s a lot more interesting guys than me to talk to.”
ALEXANDER FROLOV (on Handzus)
“He’s a big strong dude, you know? And he has a lot of experience and he really does a good job to stick with the system and making smart decisions with the puck all the time. He does a great job for us on special teams as well. It’s great because you know what to expect from him — no turnovers, no mistakes, basically. If it happens, maybe just once every few games. You know what he’s going to do every time, it’s great. He’s a strong guy and he protects the puck really well. When we play down low, that’s our strength, we can do a lot of damage from there.”
Anybody that can make Frolov use the word “dude” has to be great, right? Team Slovakia – my new bandwagon!

Slovakia vs. Czech Republic
[Reply]
I like Wisky being paired with JJ. Wisky is an upgrade over Harry and a drastic improvement over Jones.
Let’s see if Fro and Zus stay hot tonight.
[Reply]
Rich, or anyone else who has the answer, I seem to remember hearing that TM treats the Anaheim games like true road games, staying in the Anaheim area the night before and I assume the morning skate is down there. Am I recalling correctly and was the skate down there?
[Reply]
Against the Quackers, I’d prefer mobility (Harrold)to grit (O’D). Too many guys have skated around O’D this year, and I’m afraid Perry is gonna do that tonight. Maybe if O’D puts him THROUGH the boards and into the seats???
[Reply]
I would rather see Teddy Purcell in the line-up over Segal and Ivanans. I suppose Ivanans has purpose tonight because he’ll fight Parros but Segal hasn’t impressed me yet, this season.
If I was Terry Murray, I would put Teddy on the third line with Frolov and Handzus. Maybe I’d put Moller in there instead of Zeus. I believe that Purcell would learn a ton from Frolov ’cause there the same type of players.
[Reply]
You can see a pic of Quicks Olympic Mask here: http://kings.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=516778&navid=DL|LAK|home
I like the military theme, how about some medical stuff on there Quick? The Marines would be nothing without a good Corpsman or 2
It’s on the Kings page. Go Kings. I’ll be at the game tonight. Hopefully I’ll see a lot of Kings fans there.
[Reply]
Our first line seems huge. Smyth – Kopi – Brown should dominate.
I like the line up. Glad Whisky is back, Jones out
[Reply]
i certainly hope we have ALOT more intensity than Saturdays game. Anaheim will come out flying. i am so glad there aren’t, are there ?, any more Saturday day games. we won several, but i only saw us play 1 60 minute game. we escaped a few where we were outplayed. the ducks have an unbeaten streak at home, but they still take dumb penalities. we need to stay out of the box, and not feed their offense. they will play ROUGH from the start.
what a low-rent goon Babcock is. he calls our goals freebies when we gave them free ones and change back!! no balance in that brain. i hope he crashes and burns in the Olympics. 0 class.
i remember in Novemeber some of the villagers bagging on Zesus. “he’s too slow”, etc. i hope some are paying attention to the lessons of ice hockey. Zesus is 1 valuable contributor to our success. Terry Ruskowski was slow, and he was 1 great leader and Rogie realized it after he let him go. he told me so. i hope Zesus is signed thru next year. anyone know.
[Reply]
Not bad, I like it. Good choice Quick.
I like Ryan Miller’s as well. That’s one bad ass Uncle Sam!

I hope Doughty runs Mr. Ed again. It was great seeing him so pissed at the end of the game sitting in the penalty box squirting his water bottle at a fan…
[Reply]
i like having ivanans and seagal on a line with moller in case baby ryan tries something again!!
the line up looks great and glad to see DD2 back in!
GO KINGS GO!!!! kill the quacks!!!!! 10 in a row!!!!!
[Reply]
One more 1pm start on April 10th vs the Oilers and 2 noon starts, one against nashville on march 14th and one, to end the season, in Colorado on april 11th.
[Reply]
you know what’s really cool about this team…?
when a coach CAN make line-up adjustments on the fly without losing impact on the ice…
i like the fact that t.m. still doesn’t hesitate when he has to change things up…
parse and segal are interchangeable, as are the other wings on the other lines…in fact, t.m. has got this team playing so together, he can shuffle the deck and come up on top almost all the time…
keep it going, murph…:)
[Reply]
That was the most emotion I’ve “read” from Frolov in a while, he must have some decent Fro-love for Zeus. Glad to see Michal’s humility, but I think Zeus is being too humble here! I would say any Kings fan worth their salt knows the contributions Zeus makes on a nightly basis, and doesn’t care if he doesn’t have the flash of a Kopitar, etc.
[Reply]
It’s going to be hard to listen to the Ducks announcers tonight. Talk about a couple of homers.
[Reply]
Segal and Ivanans are in the lineup tonight because it is going to be a physical game. Going to be rough tonight. Let’s just take it to ‘em, make it 10 in a row, and 4 in a row over the Ducks!
GO KINGS!!
[Reply]
Wait? no TV for Foxy and Bob?
[Reply]
Good to see Whiskey back in.
Also, Jones WHL player of the week. We are deep in goal.
[Reply]
agreed jammers. it always sounds bad out of my mouth being a kings fan, but the ducks announcers are horrendous.
[Reply]
Can we say that The Purcell project is over? Trade him!
Hey Rick…Raitis is the most feared guy in the league…do you really want to get rid of a guy that can basically play 5 minutes a game and protect your players just by them knowing he is on the bench and rested and ready to tear your head off. Did you notice Ryan Carter in the last game was a tame little pussycat…he was intimidated from the bench!
10 in a row!
Go Kings Go!
[Reply]
So this mean the double agent Patty going be working for the ducks tonight?
[Reply]
I’m okay with this…
Smyth-Kopitar-Brown
Richardson-Stoll-Simmonds
but I think I still like
Richardson-Kopitar-Simmonds
Smyth-Stoll-Brown
better.
Nice to be able to mix ‘n’ match though…
GO GET THE 2-POINTS BOYS!!!
[Reply]
Welcome back Drewiske! Here’s to a solid game.
Quick’s Olymipic mask rocks. A nice way to honor a friend too.
Oh no! No Bob and Jim tonight. FSW has let me down. I’m going to be forced to listen to the Quack’s announcers. I shouldn’t complain too loud though, at least NHL Center Ice is picking up the game. I sure would hate to miss out on #10 in a row! GO KINGS!
[Reply]
Jammers – get a radio and turn on Nick and Daryl and mute the TV. I can’t even listen to those Ducks announcers. Too painful. Makes me want to jam a cocktail fork in my eye and swirl it around. If I couldn’t listen to Nick and Daryl, I think I would just watch the game without any commentary at all.
[Reply]
I guess an appeal to keep nationalism out of the olympics will fall on deaf ears…oh well…hope Quicker plays well (if he gets to) anyway.
[Reply]
Ducks announcers tonight , time to hit mute and turn on Nick and Darrell on the radio while watching the game on FSPT.
[Reply]
I wish the radio side would synch the game so we could listen to Nick and Darryl but since they’re going bankrupt on that station I believe I doubt there are any production dollars.
Good for Davis, glad he’s back but I do feel for Peter Harrold. The guy does everything he’s asked and doesn’t seem to get rewarded but I can’t disagree with the decision.
[Reply]
Wish I could tune in Nick and Darrell but I don’t have satellite radio …guess I could mute the TV..LOL
[Reply]
I agree Jammers. I just turn the sound down and listen to Nick and Daryl. “haysie” and that other clown are horrific. A suck takes a cheap shot on a King, and its a great hit, a King bumps a suck and they can’t believe the refs didnt call a penalty. And if I EVER hear coast to coast like…….. I can’t even finish typing it, the bile is rising in my throat even thinking about it. You know the sucks are going to come out and try and play physical, we just have to not buy into it and play our game, they’ll eventually crack, because they are after all, the sucks. So heres my dream…Raitis wins the fight, Oscar scores a goal, Kings win, mr. ed takes 3 penalties, corey fairy gets made fun of and leaves the game because his feelings are hurt, hiller takes a puck into one of those flaring nostrils…. I could go on forever. I hate the sucks. Go KINGS!!!!
[Reply]
so a show called replay, about some old high school game, is more important than the kings/ducks game in fox sports mind???
i just realized i dont get to see this game!! i hate california’s hockey coverage!! especially san diego
[Reply]
Harry is that guy every team needs on the end of the bench, and he fills the role well. Thanks Harry!
[Reply]
Wait…the game isn’t on TV now? or just not the King side? They haven’t had two telecasts in several years now so I know we have to listen to the Ducks announcers.
[Reply]
Kings Fan in Idaho – go to the AM 1150 website and you can listen online. Might be behind a bit, but I would rather be a little behind than listen to those sickening dimwits do the Quacks game. Haywood hates it when the game gets in the way of one of his “fascinating” stories.
[Reply]
dan h.
no… i just dont prime ticket in san diego!! sorry
[Reply]
ah phew. It’s enough punishment to listen to “hayzey” but if I didn’t get it I’d be upset!
[Reply]
Kings Fan in OC – Thank you but I would think I’d be picking up a different station in this region. Worth a try though.
[Reply]
I’m definitely leery of this game and I wouldnt even mind if the Kings lose as long as they tighten up what’s been a loose D over the past 2 games. So unlike their play of the road trip, and it’s come at home. can’t be expecting to score 4 or more goals in playoff games, so back to basics. I’m glad to see Drewiske in there; I have no faith in Jones.
[Reply]
Kings Fan in Idaho – try this:

[Reply]
Kings_stoner – it has nothing to do with FSN thinking another show is more important. When the Ducks and Kings play, Prime Ticket gets the Ducks home games and FSN West gets the Kings home games. As much as we would like to hear Bob and Jim, the same station is not going to play the same game on both channels with just different announcers. We have to hear them 3 times a year, just like the Dux fans have to hear Bob and Jim 3 times a year.
[Reply]
Go Kings. The Ducks are going to come out strong tonight, the Kings need to score at least two early, to get the Ducks out of the game, as well as their fans, the Kings fans should be out in strong force, if it wasn’t a monday game, I’d be there.
[Reply]
Great run by Peter Harrold. He played great when needed. Lets go Kings!
[Reply]
Kings Fan in OC – Thanks for the link.
Enjoy the game. Go Kings!
[Reply]
Hey Space Shot, I’m sure you meant to say that the sucks fans GET to hear Bob and Jim instead of those 2 butt pirates they’ve got. Go Kings
[Reply]
its perfectly legal to listen to Nick and Daryl on the internet. here is the exactl link for the media player…

I don’t like that 4th line or Harry going out of the defense.
If the Richie kopi Simmonds line is broken up put Richie on the 4th. Miller cannot handle that role.
[Reply]
FSPT should pay me if I break my TV by throwing things at it while listening to that dullard Hayward.
[Reply]
Love the idea of Ethan Moreau!
4th line centre extraordinaire. We can move Moller up with Zeus and Fro (big guys to protect him a bit) and he can really start to learn the RW position (Simmonds learned quite well from Zeus if i recall).
This adds more speed and skill to the 3rd line and then your 4th line becomes:
Ivanans/Parse – Moreau – Segal
[Reply]
VanKingsFan, I like it. We need pieces not a home run and Moreau is only a 1.75mil/yr cap hit thru 2010-11.
I have been asking for depth guys that will by in to the system, and give us balance thru out our lineup.
Space_Shot, you’re right it must be just as disorienting to hear the game called as it is actually happening. I mean listening Hazzy and I think that name is because of his poor description, of events rather than rythming with his name. I listened to a Ducks radio broadcast once and although they lost 5-1 and only had 22 shots on goal vs. 35 by Edmonton they made it sound as though the Ducks had the Puck 90% of the time. It was something like this “Perry holding it in the offensive zone to Getzlaf behind the net, Score Edmonton Staios. Nilsson stole the puck after tripping Getzlaf no call, pass went to Horcoff who carried into the Duck’s zone then accross to Staios who scored as it appeared as though Hiller lost an edge”. Saw it on sportscenter definately not a trip and Hiller dove to attempt to save it, not a accidental fall.
