As noted earlier, Peter Harrold practiced as a defenseman today, and after practice, Terry Murray indicated that changes would be coming to the Kings’ lineup tomorrow, but said that Davis Drewiske would not be returning to the lineup…
MURRAY: “I’ve got to make some changes, for sure. I’m not really sure what I’m going to do yet, but I’ve got to change a couple things around.”
I specifically asked Murray about Drewiske, and whether he had any physical concerns, coming off the shoulder injury…
MURRAY: “No, he’s not in (tomorrow). He’s close. He’s really close. We’re just trying to get him game-ready. As far as his rehab is concerned, it has gone along pretty well, but we just need to get him, in our minds, ready to step in and play at the level of game that we’re playing at.”
I like Harrold on D.

I agree Dominick
Solid D-man

Now THIS is the kinda coaching dilemma I’m happy to see.
[Reply]
I’m with Dominick, Peter Harrold is just an amazing position player on D. He is always pretty invisible on the offense, so I think we should just stick to using him on D. I unfortunately don’t think Jones will be seeing any ice time soon. I say unfortunately not because of how I think he has been playing, but you watch the guy before and after the games (even between periods) and he really seems to be a good guy to have in the locker room. Just to echo Tuan Jim’s comment, I guess this is a dilemma I’ll take.

I’m ok with Harry on D, wasn’t he on D when we deat the wheels before?
[Reply]
correction, I’m excited Jones won’t be in and wasn’t Harry in when we beat the wheels in Detroit?
[Reply]
Ch ch ch ch changes. Hope he doesn’t change to the point he did that one time (the change for the sake of change time).
As for Wiske, can he be sent down for one of those “rehab” stints that sometimes bring “star” players to the AHL for a set number of games without them having to clear wavers? If getting into “game-ready” condition is what TM is waiting for, well why not let him play a few in Manchester? Maybe he isn’t eligible for it?
[Reply]
Notice TM is holding Drewiske out because he’s not ready to just step in at the level of game the Kings are playing at?
I love that!!! They can’t stick a guy in cuz he can’t keep up with the how rest of the group is performing. Boy, DL must be just getting wood to hear something like that!!! Like TUAN said, what a great coaching dilemma, huh???

Move Harold back on D in place of Jones.
Play Parse and put him back on the 3rd line.
Move Segal back to the 4th line.
Thank you very much.

King John, stop making sense!
[Reply]
Agree completely with King John.
Impressive that JMFJ had 4 points and was still a -1 yesterday. Not sure who was worse on D in the 3rd, Jonesy or JMFJ. Have to say that JMFJ and Harry had good chemistry when they were paired for those few games. Let’s hope they pick up where they left off.
[Reply]
You’re wrong Johnny Utah if you think Johnson was bad on D yesterday in the 3rd. Watch the goals the Ducks scored again. Only the Beleskey goal could you even say Jack was somewhat responsible for but the blame on that one starts with Handzus.

I was in the front row last night and JJ looked good to me.
[Reply]
i hope the coach doenst start going crazy with the changes…one soft period yesterday doenst need alot of change…..one on D…one on the 4th line…thats it…
[Reply]
SDgolfer: JJ looked good to you because you were in the front row, can’t see anything down there!
I hate Harrold on D and offense, he makes bad decisions and bad passes, let’s the puck out of the zone all the time. I’m not hating on Jones or Johnson for one game, it happens. bring up Parse and I’ll be happy, he always plays well against the Wings
[Reply]
I doubt TM will move Segal to 4th line. Segal had a good game with the Fro line. I’m guessing Parse will be on the 4th line.

Its remarkable that the team is so consistent that tuning the lineup is a like tuning a racing bike or car for a given track. More bottom in some cases, more midrange in others.

Bye Jonesy.
I’ll be making the game tomorrow. Yard house for lunch; watch the Kings beat Detwa inthe afternoon; and the Queen Mary for dinner. Hey, it’s a dirty job but someone……….
GoKingsGo!

I agree that Jones is probably a very nice guy. And I am sure he isn’t trying to be lousy in our own end. All of that being said, thank goodness he will be riding the pine against the Dead Wings.
[Reply]
Jones showed some instant value offensively when first thrown on to the ice. 8 points in his first 12 games or something like that, but he is dreadful defensively. I’m no fan of Harrold either, but with the better team game we’re playing, he’ll be an upgrade for sure.
[Reply]
From what I’ve seen of Harold on defense, he is very serviceable. Jones, since the injury, has been a liability. He may improve with some ice time though.
[Reply]
harry i think is a good d, what he lacks in size he gains in speed and heart he is not shy about going into the corners either. he kind of reminds me of bob murdoch(..old #5. i think harry has better o then bob.
[Reply]
JJ has been good and looks to me like he is getting better all the time. Just because a team scores when your on the ice does not mean you are responsible for the break down.
He plays physical, has a crushing slapshot and walks the line better than anyone on the team.
Don’t trade him DEAN!

Parse is in and Ivanans is out. I’m not a fan of scratching an enforcer, but I know TM will do that since the wings are the wimpiest team in the history of the NHL. In fact, they’re even wimpier than most KHL franchises…
I would like to see Ivanans intimidate those wimps
