O'Donnell postgame quotes

Sean O’Donnell’s postgame thoughts… O’DONNELL: “It’s a good shot in the arm for us. That’s a real good team over there. They don’t give you a whole lot, and to battle back from 2-1, and then 3-2 — especially after we did tie it up at the end of the second and had some momentum, [...]

Smyth postgame quotes

Ryan Smyth’s postgame thoughts… (on the win…) SMYTH: “The key is playing a full 60 minutes. We did that. Even when they capitalized and they scored, we didn’t quit. Doughty postgame quotes

Drew Doughty’s postgame thoughts… (on the win…) DOUGHTY: “That was huge. I thought we played a really good game, the full 60 minutes and overtime, and then obviously the shootout was fantastic as well. That’s the thing we’ve got to be doing every night. We’ve got to be playing like that. We’ve got to be [...]

End of second: 2-2

How big was that tying goal for the Kings? Only four teams in the NHL have a perfect record this season when leading after two periods. One is the Kings, at 18-0-0. Another? The Sabres, at 19-0-0.

One more chance at home

By any measure, this hasn’t been a good homestand for the Kings. They take a 2-4 record into tonight’s finale of the season-long, seven-game homestand before they head out for a five-game road trip, their longest remaining trip of the season. How big are a couple games? If the Kings had gone 4-2 in the [...]

Purcell's opportunity

It’s not yet known — mostly because of Ryan Smyth’s weather-related delay — exactly what role Teddy Purcell will fill for the Kings tonight, but it is known that he will get a chance to end his nine-game run as a healthy scratch, and a chance to show that he can be the scoring threat [...]
