As much as I know people want to give JQ a rest, the fact of the matter is you don’t pull a hot goalie on a streak…wait for him to lose one & then give EE a shot…but for now you ride the goalie that’s playing the best and grab as many points as you can…

Plently of rest in a couple of weeks, although with the way he is playing maybe JQ is the back-up to Ryan Miller…crazier things have happend…

    agreed gary

he is going for a 6-0 stretch and would def be first star of the week, maybe even month, with a win tomorrow.

My guess is that Quick made it known he wanted to play. Oh well, we’ll see. I would of given him a rest, but if we some how win tomorrow what a land mark trip this will be.

i would rest Quick but the coach knows his players better and i TRUST him…..He can always replace him early if he looks tired…The whole team looks a little tired and i dont blame them… long road trip….

i understand why you wouldnt play quick, but how can you tell a professional to sit when he has led the team to their best run of the season. you dont tell him to stop when hes hot, no matter what

Since the lockout, teams without a back-up goaltender to help share the load in the regular season have always payed for it in the playoffs.

We’ll see if the Kings can be different.

Player of the month will be Brian Elliott, but if Quick wins tomorrow, he should be the 2nd or 3rd star

goalies that failed b/c of that:
    luongo:6′3 205
    nabokov: 6′ 195
    kipprusoff: 6′2″ 185
    lundqvist:6′1 195

they are all skinnier than quick, who is built like a truck (6′1 225). he is also very young and hasnt had the wear and tear like all these other guys.

his fatigue might be a problem but until i see some signs quick can handle it

Did I say payed instead of paid?

It’s the booze. But what is hockey without booze?

I am with the Quick one, but why not have JB too and have two good goalies instead of one?

you must not have watched the columbus or boston 1st periods.

  17. YoBro says:

Agreed, Jofa. BUT, JQ has played very well on this trip. Some softies, but there when needed. He’s surely picked it up some lately. But what I want to know is — Why aren’t more folks talking about Jarrett Stoll, and what he’s done for this team, this year? Most reliable player, with Zeus, all season.

Go Kings- playoff beard this year!!!

Good to stick with Quick and lets hope we get JMFJ back against the Devils. We were a little lost tonight several times on D but the boys hung in together and pulled out a win. New Jersey will be more physical and obviously the Kings are tired. They’re coming in against a rested Devils team that didn’t play today, unfortunate but what can you say. JMFJ will certainly give the team a bigger presence, if not maybe we’ll see Drewiske.

The Kings are playing so well right now and they’re winning. What a great time to be watching, what a great time to be a fan, what a great time to be a King.

    Go LA!

Ouick might not be great goalie yet,but he`s very very good, and he is only going to get better. With out him we wouldn`t be in the race.I think you need to ask the King players what they think of Ouick.

Overall I think the Bruins played a decent game tonight, all considering their despiration. Quick made the saves when it mattered and played very well. Ride Quick tomorrow, he’ll get a break behind Miller. Rangers aren’t until a few days.

Enjoyed being in FleetCenter tonight getting riducled with a Kings jersey on. Bring on Jersey tomorrow.

Yes play Quick but for goodness sakes play Ersberg. Quick is going to go down due to injury and ersberg won’t be prepared…. Better long term if Quick plays less and ersberg plays a little more

JJ is out and we get 2 goals on the PP against the 2nd best PK in the league and we’re the road team.

  24. HawKings says:

Jofa, I am not saying Quick is great, as it is way to early in his career to call him that, but I bet that his teammates think a lot more of him than he is just “ok” and quite frankly, that is all that counts.

  25. What's the frequency, Kenneth? says:

Logically, it seems to me it’s done. The game to rest him would have been the Bruins game or the Columbus game, so I’m all for playing him tomorrow.

“quick is an ok goalie but his not great. he wins because the team in front of him plays hard.” — Oh, okay. When all those shots bounced off his pads in the first two minutes of the Columbus game, it was pure luck, even though they were prime opportunities. It wasn’t positioning and/or awareness, or anything like that. [rolls eyes]

WRT missing JJ–people must have been watching something different than what I was watching. I saw far less chaos against a better team tonight.

  26. Buster says:

Quick is 6 wins away from breaking the record for most wins in a season by a Kings goalie, currently held by Mario Lessard. It would be nice to see him break this one before the Olympic break.

  27. What's the frequency, Kenneth? says:

Sadly, there’s an “*” next to any record win counts, because of the new format where you can win by shootout. Some games used to end in ties, and now none do, so there are more wins obtained on average. I don’t know how (or if) the math works out, but I know there are more wins available now.

JJ may bring a little chaos to the game, but Jones is pretty scarey out there. Segal’s penalty almost cost us the game. No wonder he only got a couple of minutes. Exciting game, and it was Quick’s doing.

I think they should rest Quick. I know his kind of hot right now, but the game today is not only right after yesterday’s game, it starts at 5:00 eastern time. What’s that about 19 hours of rest?
