Johnson on ice

Jack Johnson is practicing this morning, which is a good sign for him and the Kings. I’ll get an update after practice, before the flight to Boston.

    Good news. Every player and every game counts now – it feels so good to be able to say that in late January…

    Thank God. I would have had a Simmond’s hater in my house from my Jack lovin’ teenage daughter!

    @KQ949

    That’s funny. Both of my kids LOVE Jack Johnson. When we play hockey in the street, they both say “I’m just like Jack Johnson.”

    His defense could use a little work, but I think he’s got some intangibles that make him a really valuable asset to the Kings and especially to their fans.

    jammers … you mean your kids routinely miss their defensive assignments, hang their defencive partner out to dry, and miss the net completely on shots from the point? You should introduce them to Drew Doughty! J/K … I like JMFJ myself and hope he continues to learn and grow as a player.

    Randy jones has been a healthy scratch. He could have filled in if the Kings needed a mobile guy on defense.

    off topic but I have to vent…I am a KINGS fan in NOCAL and have been exposed to the SHARKS broadcast. They are terrible!!! biggest homers in the NHL!!!

  20. JPKelly says:

    @Todd M…

    I disagree. If you think the Sharks broadcasters are the “biggest homers”, you haven’t been watching the broadcasts of many other teams. Compared to Bob & Jim, or Nick & Daryl, they might be sort of homerish. But Randy (who cut his chops working for the Kings before going up north to SJ) & Drew aren’t that bad compared to some other folks, including a pair in Orange County who shall remain nameless. I’ve watched all the broadcasters around the league for years. Trust me, the guys in SJ aren’t nearly as bad as it can get.

    Todd M,

    Yes you might just have bit incorrect….the Smucks broadcasters are the worst. I mute my TV when we play them at their home.

  22. nykingfan says:

    I agree with JPKelly

    Every home announcing team is going to be a “homer” of some sort, but they aren’t close to what a lot of other broadcasts are.
    I think they are more than fair in the praise they’ve doled out to the Kings this year.
