The Kings looked downright dreadful for the first eight minutes or so — they were outshot 7-0 after less than two minutes — but got outstanding play from Jonathan Quick, killed two penalties and actually took the lead. Matt Greene’s slap shot, from just inside the blue line, got through traffic and beat Mason with 8:55 remaining in the first period.
Keep it up, QUICK!

CBJ commentators speaking about Simmonds. ‘There is no doubt he is a significant part of this LA Kings team’ Plus a bunch of other stuff. Oh yeah, how he holds onto the puck and creates time in order to be able to make plays. He said even more than that.

badGoaltending – I kind of get your point, but shouldn’t we be hoping Quick DOESN’T dodge the pucks? Semantics, I know…I hope he DODGES right in front of every single damn one of them!

JJ looks horrible, but Quick looks awesome!
