DOUGHTY: “It was awesome. I was obviously really excited to play here in Toronto. I had lots of friends and family here watching the game. And to get that win, it’s really important for the team as well, so it was great to get that one.”

DOUGHTY: “He played a great game. He played fantastic for us. That’s why he’s our captain. When he leads by example like that, we all follow. I felt that when he picked up his game, and was making those nice plays and making hits, we all followed his lead and that’s why we won.”
(on fighting for playoff standing…)
DOUGHTY: “I know we’re in a battle there. If we had lost to Detroit, we would have been in eighth or ninth, something like that. That game against Detroit was really important, and this game was just as important.”
(on offensive production from defensemen…)
DOUGHTY: “I guess it just kind of worked out that way. Our game plan was definitely to get shots to the net, and that’s what a lot of us were doing. We were getting pucks to the goal, and we weren’t getting shots blocked. We were able to start a cycle and get some points.”

i gotta think that drew is now ahead of kopi…or as the toronto announcer said the whole night rather cutely…”kope-eee-tar”…in the most three stars of the night competition…
the rangers do a good job of keeping track of that silly stat…
but i’m just curious…because drew is absolutely something special right now…
better and better each gaem…it seems like he’s taken his game to higher level this month…

It was pretty sweet. I like the canadian broadcast too. They are a little more straightforward with how they describe the game, and the highlights they show at the end are the ones you really want to see. All the big hits, bumps and goals…no frills involved

I believe his next bonuses that he is eligible to receive is based on total points and whether he is one of the top time on ice defensemen for the Kings. He will definetly get that bonus as well at the end of the year.

I liked the Gamecast… until the feed died for me before the last TV timeout. Don’t know why, because I was still online with no loss of speed, but whatever. I finished the game listening to Nick and Daryl while watching the Wings choke on Versus.
Saturday was Kopitar’s big game, and tonight belonged to Brown and Doughty. Not sure on the numbers, but I’m pretty sure Frolov has been dangerous against Columbus in his career. Here’s hoping he’s the next King to have a big game on this road trip, and that the Kings will make it 3 for 3.

No Doubt(y) about it—this is a great player. Reminds me of Scott Niedermeyer with his poise, quickness and understanding of the game that is lightyears ahead of his age.
We are happy to have him—and Jack Johnson as the young core of defensemen.

Yeah, the gamecast was very cool. I liked that I could has all those gadgets up around the game so I could easily keep track of stats and such. I also liked being able to have the pip with another game so I could keep track of washington pasting nyi. Anyone else shocked that the caps scored seven goals and ovi had zero points!?
