Dustin Brown’s postgame thoughts…
(on his game…)
BROWN: “Obviously it’s a huge two points for us. We got out of the first. We didn’t play a great period, but it was 1-1. It was one of those things where these two points are bigger than we’ve had at any other point of the year. I just got in on the forecheck a couple times and turned over pucks, and when you do that, good things happen.”
(on Stoll’s goal…)
BROWN: “It was a weird play. He came from the top and I don’t think he [Wayne Primeau] saw me. I turned the puck over on him and expected to see at least one defenseman. The other four guys were already at the hashmarks or above. I took it from him and I was a little surprised to see nobody below the dots for them.”
(on his line’s play…)
BROWN: “It takes a little while to get used to it. Smytty is really good in his zone, but it takes a little while to get used to. He almost wants you to stay away from him for a little bit, for him to make his plays. It worked out tonight, obviously. It’s all about the two points, and we contributed to that today.”
captain king…?!?!

Captain America, Captain Canada, and Stoll. LOL
Brownie was a MONSTER tonight. Nice to see him get his game back.
We went 1-0 tonight. On Thursday, we need to go 1-0 again. One game at a time boys!

O’ Captain, my Captain?
Great game by this line tonight.

Since we fell down to 8th place, Brown has been the man. Hitting, defending, shootout goals, play making. He is leading when the team needs a leader the most, during the hard times.

The Captains Line, I like the sound of that!

NYKINGFAN,
i agree he played his best game tonight. the best for me was stripping the puck from primeau and setting up the goal

Brownie has really poured it on the last few weeks. When the rest of the team wasn’t playing so well, he really seemed to pick it up.

Maybe Brown’s best game ever. No cheap points for him tonight; he earned them all.

Aye aye, captain.

Love the UPS truck.

DD was fired up before his family and friends. DB and JJ were also fired up before Ron Wilson maybe?

Here’s a quote from the game article in the Toronto Star:
“I pray to God Dustin Brown is this good three weeks from tonight,” said Leafs coach Ron Wilson, who will be behind the U.S. bench in Vancouver.
Not too shabby.
