Frolov on Team Russia?

There’s a vague, unsourced report on a Russian website that Alexander Frolov and three other NHL players have been added to Russia’s Olympic roster as “substitutes.” Frolov said he didn’t know anything about it, and that he hadn’t received any team equipment, as had been posted on the website.

strange story as Fro doesn’t know about it. I certainly wouldn’t be surprised by it though…

Maybe he will play in disguise for Team Russia, with a fake moustache and sideburns, as #42 Rednaxela Volorf.

Totally unrelated: Has anyone read the LATimes article where JJ was bashed (out of context supposedly) by DL? It was publishe today at:

I wonder if JJ will carry this scar?

If he is on their team then it is not because of how he’s played for the Kings this year. Maybe he’s better as a shooter in the slot, than hanging on to the puck in the corners.

In fact, I think the Kings should relieve him of that responsiblity. Let someone else muck in the corners and let him try and get open in the slot for a one-timer…I’ve seen him do that and he has the skills.

Stuart – you are not alone. I skipped that thread because of the title. Now it has 233 postings.

I said this during contract negotiations, but again it is not about the coaching, but about how many games Jack played in the past 5 years. DD has played almost twice as many. It does not matter how much raw talent Jack has, he needs time and opportunity to develop it. Making mistakes is an expected part of that development. We need to live with the mistakes now so that we have a top performer in 5 years. Consider it an investment by the Kings.
Those who only see -16 should compare that to other D men who have played the same number of games the past 5 years.

    Rich,

sort of off topic, but have you heard anything about Trevor Lewis, Andrei Loktionov and Thomas Hickey? How their rehab is going and stuff, if they’re ahead of schedule or behind schedule? Thanks!

Stuart may be a day late, but the story he posted is new (from today) and provides an entirely new dimension to the whole fiasco. DL is backtracking BIG TIME.

Waves – I read it and thought the same thing. Although I think he is more concerned about the perception, not the content. I think even Jack Johnson would agree that he is a better all-around player now than he was in 2007.

Funny side note – I commented on said LAT article, questioning why Miss Elliot didn’t correct Mr. Johnson when he said, “criticize me as a person,” as any criticism was directed at his development as a player, not a person. But it’s not showing up anymore. Guess they don’t like criticism over there.

One of Hammer’s strengths, the ability to let critical comments stand, is apparently one of Gladys’ weaknesses. Then again, there’s a lot of heat in the offices of dead tree editions these days.

as long as fro knows he’s playing tonight, that’s all i need to know…

    rich…

can u confirm he knows this much, at least…?

i’m trying to respect the fro…i, oddly enough, love the guy…but a couple of goals tonight would remind me why we should re-sign him…it might also remind him that he’s playing for a contract next season…and that if russia calls with love for his services, great…just don’t separate any shoulders this time around…:)

Wow, reading these comments, you’d never know that TM was praising Fro. Definitely not calling him a ‘slacker.’ Where would Brown be without those assists from him? Hmm.
