Scott Parse is on the ice this morning, with approximately half the team, for an optional skate.
Jarret Stoll also made it on the ice, albeit in a gray jersey (with everyone else in black)

Parse will have a big game tonight. He’ll want to prove he needs to stay up with the big club.
[Reply]
Parse is really racking up the frequent flyer miles….
[Reply]
Stoll looks slow and in pain :/ but parsely looks great!
[Reply]
Welcome back Parse!
[Reply]
Sit Purcell dress parse
[Reply]
Good.
[Reply]
Ahhh but i liked elkins..
Not
[Reply]
Nice! Hope to see him in tonight’s game since I’ll be there…WHOHOO!
In other news…Kyle Calder was just put on waivers by Anaheim. http://twitter.com/TSNBobMcKenzie What a tough year for KC. May have to go to the KHL to get a paycheck. How things change so quickly in the NHL.
[Reply]
Sit Purcell?
Haven’t you heard? He’s first line tonight.
There’s no way Parse gets first line.
[Reply]
YESS! Good decision bringing him back. hope hes here to stay.
[Reply]
I think Elkins has potential. Just needs more seasoning playing pro hockey and the AHL is the right speed for him. Maybe middle of next year if he works hard. His one goal was a very heads up play. He made a great read on a dman and headed to the net. No doubt TM liked that.
[Reply]
It looks like Parse just “materialized.” I never saw any indication that he had been brought back up. I’m pleased he’ll be getting another shot. I am, of course, not pleased that Williams has been stricken by yet another broken bone. I was not among the people who were concerned about this trend for Williams, but I guess I am now.
[Reply]
Juraj Mikus teleported him. Saved the company airfare.
[Reply]
Loved Elkins’ energy… Still, he made critical puck-moving and defensive positioning mistakes. Give him TIME, in the A…
Parse, at this point, just feels right.
In my mind, have had a goal (the last month, after the great start) of 24 wins by Jan 1, 2010… Kings need to win two of three to get there. That would be 51 points at 41 games, exactly half of 102 points.
One hundred two points, boys and girls, would be a playoff team at the end of the season, no matter how well the West plays against the East the rest of the way.
Hey Quispie, what is the record high point total for a team not to make the playoffs?
[Reply]
I think it will be interesting to see if Teddy can complement Smyth and Kopitar. Each brings something different to the line. If there’s chemistry, it could work out well and be productive. We’ll have to wait and see… I hope they do well!
[Reply]
This is Teddy’s last shot and he’s getting it on his natural side. I’m pulling for him.
Problem will be if he succeeds, TM has said he’s a top 6. Where does that leave Brown & Simmer when Williams coes back? I know, thinking WAY to far ahead, but it’s something to talk about.
[Reply]
As I’ve said before, we all love Brownie, but the talent has improved around him. It appears quite possible he may one day have to drop a line. He knows how to play a gritty game.
[Reply]
Hopefully Smyth rubs off on Purcy like he did with Kopitar the first 22 games.
[Reply]
Bako,
Since they instituted the shootout, the 8th seed has had from 88-96 points, and the highest non-playoff point total was 95 by Colorado in the 2006-2007 season. Coolstandings.com still projects that 92-93 points should do it in the West this season (in contrast, 88 looks like it will be enough in the East).
[Reply]
bbb7:
Betcha highest non-playoff team in the West has more than 95 points this year!
[Reply]
bbb7–thanks!
[Reply]
Yikes! It’s looking like close to 100 points necessary in the West…
