Bradon Kozun had a shift today in the second period that had the entire SUI team chasing him around…nobody could catch him.

The fact is that Team USA has been less then impressive so far. They trailed in the game against Slovakia, and they struggled to beat the Swiss. They should win easily against Latvia, but I’m worried that Thursday is going to be a woodshed beating by the Canadians. So far only Sweden seems to be even close to Canada in this tournament.

My 4 year old daughter calls the Red Wings “Bad Santas”, the Sharks “Fishies” and all the other teams are “the Sucks”. Makes a Kings daddy proud…

And while we’re talking trades, let me throw a thought out there to see what you guys think. And I HATE THE QUACKS, so if I’m suggesting this it says something for their talent….

How about if the Kings traded Frolov & Bernier to the Ducks for Corey Perry? They need the cap space desperately, and they need to find a goalie of the future since Hiller is not panning out the way they thought. And the Kings need a top flight winger since we’re almost certainly not going to get our paws on Kovalchuk. If Jonathon Quick really is the “real deal” then the Kings have too many goalie prospects and they need to deal at least one. Throw a Kings D prospect or draft pick into the deal to sweeten it if need be, but I think the Quacks would make the trade, especially if they continue to struggle.

Then again, I’m probably just crazy. :D

No way in hell the Ducks would trade Corry Perry, IMO

You should be ashamed of yourself for even including Corey Fairy in any trade proposal with the Kings. Shame on you. Shame. Shame.

I know. I know. I’m just looking at teams that could be “sellers” as we get close to the trade deadline and trying to match up what they need to what the Kings need. The Quacks need cap space and a goalie. The Kings need a sniper.

The Sucks wouldn’t make that trade and I would not trade Bernier

@Paul – What makes you think we would not get Kovi? Unless something has happened that I missed, he hasn’t signed a contract extention nor is he being shopped. If Kovi wants to play for a winner and make big bucks, then all the Kings need to do is make the playoffs, give it a good showing and then “show Kovi the money” on July 1st

Most of the NHL programs I watch and listen to suggest that if Atlanta can’t resign Kovi he’s going back to Russia next year. And with the recent exodus of young Russian players back to Russia I’d say that’s probably a better bet then Kovi signing in Atlanta or LA or anywhere else. Besides, when have the Kings ever shown anyone the money? Their MO is to try to bid low and get high returns from the guys they’re left with when the dust settles. The Kings have never spent like the Rangers or some of the other big market teams and AEG & DL have never shown an inclination to start doing so now.

I don’t think atlanta would let Kovi walk away for nothing if he doesn’t sign they will probably make a trade at the deadline.
