Tonight's lineup

Teddy Purcell and Peter Harrold are scheduled to be the healthy scratches tonight, leaving the Kings with a lineup of forwards much the way they practiced this week…

Smyth-Kopitar-Williams
Richardson-Handzus-Brown
Frolov-Moller-Simmonds
Ivanans-Elkins-Segal

Terry Murray said he didn’t feel as though any of his four returning players (Johnson, Segal, Simmonds, Smyth) would be limited.

I talked, briefly, with Alexander Frolov about not making the Russian Olympic team but didn’t get much of a reaction, other than some general disappointment at not making the team. Notes and quotes to come a bit later…

Not a big surprise on Frolov’s reaction. He rarely says much.

Doesn’t help the Kings that he didn’t make the Russian team in trade negotiations for Fro, doesn’t hurt them when/if they talk contract… Hopefully atleast he’ll be a bit insulted and play with an edge tonight. Show em Fro! You go show em! ;)

    Goose bumps baby!

    Purcell benched – CHECK
    Richie-Zeus-Brown back – CHECK
Smyth back to reunite top line – CHECK
Simmonds back on a GREAT looking 3rd line – CHECK
Decent, tough 4th line (If Ivan plays well) – CHECK

Oh MAN I can’t wait for 6PM! I think we’ll see SERIOUS hunger from Smyth in his first shift back and that is gonna fuel the rest of the team.

Thanks Rich for the day after christmas gift!

I would have dressed Purcell in lieu of Ivanans against Phoenix, due to their speed. But what do I know.

Fro/Mo/Sim is really the second line. Especially since TM already revealed that the checking/stopper unit is always the one with Handzus on it.

    Q-

From a pschyological perspective, I like the Purcell benching for tonight’s game. Big reason, coming out of an 8 day break against a team (as you said) is known for it’s speed and the coach would rather put his slow goon in than start you.

You wanna talk about sending a SERIOUS message to Teddy Purcell about his play, TONIGHT was the right time to do it. TM has shown before that he’s not afraid to (Seemingly on paper) shorthand his team to put the best current players on the ice or weed out the slackers off of it. You could not post a billboard big enough to flash a message to Tedddy ballgame that he better begin to ‘Put Up or Pack Up’.

Love the move and it’s gonna solve the TP situation at the right time once and for all (I believe). If TM was playing chess with Teddy Purcell, this would be the equivalent of TM yelling ‘CHECK’.

Agree w/ the 2nd line thought, but the 3rd line will be getting more minutes tonight. (wink)

And -MATE! For all the reasons you Cynic this is the death knell for TP. It’s no longer “put up”, that time has passed. Good for the Kings.

The first three lines look great but the fourth line is pretty thin. When Stoll comes back we can move Richardson back down to the 4th line and then we’ll be in great shape.

    Hey CanucksFan!

What kind of replies are you looking to receive from the aristocratic, socialite, (Dare I say ROYAL) fans of the Los Angeles Kings by posting such inflammatory remarks as yours in their space on the internet?

Are you looking for comments such as:

    - Well, at least the Skid Row of our God Forsaken town isn’t considered ‘Main Street’.

    - At least we don’t riot every time we don’t get what we want, like a playoff series win or something.

    - At least we don’t need a boat to get to the beautiful parts of our city.

    - Well, at least we don’t have socalized health care where we have to wait 4 hours just to take our temperature………yet :-(

    - Well, at least Kings fans can wear shorts and a t-shirt outside in December.

    - At least we don’t have to pay $16.95 just to watch our team play a game…..on television.

    - In LA, we don’t have to ‘Groom’ our women. We can also tip them over and they get back up on their own.

    - At least we’re not confused enough to call ourselves ‘Canucks’ and then put a big fish on our logo.

    - At least we have a better ‘Fro’ than Roberto Luongo. Tell dude to straighten that mess he calls hair or people will pour Ajax on his head and start cleaning toilets with it.

I mean responses like these are COMPETELY beneath the character of the great fans of Los Angeles and our superior upbringing.

Now if you’re looking for a fight, I hear Montreal fans haven’t had their diapers changed there for a while and Bob Gainey is out of safety pins. Head east young Grasshopper…..

Why would a nucks fan be reading a blog for the LA kings about lines and such? Someone kind of bored, or even interested in this team, perhaps?
