There’s obviously a good feeling around the Kings right now, given that they have climbed to the top of the Western Conference, but the three games this week will be what determines how merry their Christmas is.
MURRAY: “No, I didn’t talk about that. We had a video review this morning, a team meeting this morning, and it was about us and our play, that it just needs to be better. We got through the game… the last two games, actually, we gave up too many opportunities. Very uncharacteristic of what we’re trying to do here. Last night, probably more grade-A scoring chances than we have at any time this year. We tried to hit hard on our D-zone coverage and our puck-possession plays.
“I really feel that our lack of communication, the simple, `Hey, I’m open, pass me the puck’ kind of communication is lacking right now. We can simplify our game and make better, quality plays, breakouts, (and) our coverage can clean a lot of the areas up that I’m concerned about right now.”
