Kings 1, Coyotes 0

The Kings’ “fourth” line — Oscar Moller and Brad Richardson, with Wayne Simmonds picking up an extra shift — got the first goal of the game. Simmonds got control of the puck on the right boards, went behind the net with speed and centered the puck to Moller, who picked out the top right corner of the net and beat Ilya Bryzgalov 4:11 into the first period.
