[Reply]
seriously!!! that record is incredible.
[Reply]
My heart can’t take this.
Good job Kings!
[Reply]
variable, WOW!!!!!
WOW!!!!!
WOW!!!!!
[Reply]
Ya gotta believe!
[Reply]
great job guys of finding a way to win. They had to be tired after back to backs and busy week. There growing up before our eyes. Im becoming a believer in this team.
[Reply]
Kevin,
That wasn’t JJ’s Stick, its a universal cheap stick they give out now. Much like San Jose does. I think it’s completely dumb and I blame San Jose and the Ducks for it.
Come on Kings, just cause your winning now doesn’t mean you need to cut marketing with the fans! Well I guess it does, but come on!!!!
GO KINGS!
Great game!
[Reply]
nervous time…my legs were getting weak
[Reply]
GO KINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GREAT GAME!!!!! HUGE WIN!!! Keep it up boys!
[Reply]
Dare we start using the “C” word when describing the Kings asperations this season?
[Reply]
There’s no chance in hell we use the “C” word.

If we want it, we gotta act like it, talk like it, play like it!!!
[Reply]
i think its in the back of the players minds but let wait until we actually make it to the playoffs first. Then we can see if we are a playoff team or a sharks team.
[Reply]
Now here is a stat pack:
First in the West to 20 wins
1 point behing San Jose. that puts us at 2nd in the Western Conference, but 4th due to the division leaders taking up the top 3. Tied for 3rd in the NHL in points.
102 goals tied for 3rd in the NHL for goals with Pittsburg.
14-0-0 when leading after 2. Tied with NJ for best in the league when leading after 2.
NOW THIS IS IMPRESSIVE.
[Reply]
WWAMD -
Welcome back..glad to see you’re finally giving up dirt calling all the players, coaches and management. Even if it’s because we’re one point out of the NHL lead…Just make sure you dont revert back to your old ways if we lose a game or two
[Reply]
WWAMD I kinda noticed it was a generic stick. no tape on the blade and didn’t look like there was a curve in it.
[Reply]
Love TM’s decision not to have frolov shoot, that is why we won
[Reply]
Thank God Murray didn’t put Frolov in the shootout! Just kidding, who know if Fro would have scored..I just wanted to stir the pot a little
[Reply]
ha,ha LA King…we typed the same thing at the same time!
[Reply]
lollolololololololol
[Reply]
oh i forgot a stat.
8-1-1 VS THE PACIFIC DIVISION.
THE KINGS OWN THE PACIFIC DIVISION
[Reply]
Smyth cleans up nicely.
[Reply]
I dislike TM very much, but I’m starting to gain some confidence in him. All of this and Ryan Smyth isnt in the lineup and I love the decision to roll with 7 defenseman, in the last couple of posts I mentioned how good the Moller-Richardson-Brown line looked and that’s the first person TM double shifted, props to AK47! Hahaha but seriously, Jack was a monster out there, I love that shoulder shake move he pulls, it always gets the opponent.
I LOVE LA! hahahaha even though I live in Ottawa, I’m so proud to be a Kings fan
[Reply]
NICE! Keep it going boys.
[Reply]
3 words…
on a roll
next up – dallas
can we dare think that they go 3-0 versus the top teams in the toughest division in hockey?
[Reply]
AK47 -
You better start to like TM or you’ll be really pissed when he’s up there accepting the award for coach of the year in June!
[Reply]
Don’t plan the parade quite yet…next up Dallas. One game at a time!
[Reply]
Moller needs to grow his hair out. With the new beard and the missing front tooth, he’d look like a Viking raider.
[Reply]
Smyth is just a monster I was so fired up when we got that guy, he makes this team a serious threat
[Reply]
dallas has looked flat this season. I think this will probably be something of an easy win.
and if we take them to OT it looks even easier
DAL is 3-9 in OT/Shootouts.
[Reply]
No games in the NHL are easy…
[Reply]
nothing comes easy
[Reply]
Great win considering Kings were completely out-played most of the game. Praise be Quick. Does Brown ever pass the puck?
[Reply]
nice jinx kevin
my best friends a big dallas fan i want to shove this in his face
[Reply]
No i understand all of that.. but it looks like it will be a game the kings could come out and blow down Dallas with a high powered offensive game.
[Reply]
lol. The way the kings have played of late, the kings should have a good game and should get a big win.
[Reply]
i dont think they were out played all game parts not in no way in a whole were they out played
[Reply]
Tacks…put the puck on net and shot mentality. How many times has TM used those words? Brown is doing his job. An example of this is the Richardson goal a few games ago, Brown got a shot the goalie dropped the puck and Richie put it in the net.
[Reply]
I agree blake. we were out played a bit in the third but hat could just be fatigue setting in a bit from the back to back games and having to travel overnight.
[Reply]
anyone else notice that only one team in the western conference has a losin record (ducks!)….wata tough conference…
[Reply]
Damn I love the KiNgS!!!
[Reply]
Tacks, that is also how he got the GW last night against SJ. He is leading by example by putting the puck on net repeatedly and often.
[Reply]
josh that is true. the ducks are the only team in the west with a “losing record” but look at how many games have been decided in OT in the entire league. It is a ton.
[Reply]
Glad the Kings won! But we need to stop letting the opposing team get a chance to win. I hope they improve that aspect.
When Smyth returns, were are going to be one very serious team. With him, everything seems easier. We get more assist, goals, chances, etc. I’m super stoked that our secondary scoring is great. Quick is awesome!! He is always giving us a chance to win.
Kings future seems bright!!
[Reply]
there are a lot of teams that are above .500. and a lot of those have at least 4 losses in OT.
[Reply]
If we take out Dallas Saturday we’ll have beaten everyone in the Pac. Division in December…wouldn’t that be nice.
Also, points in every game in December…Merry Xmas Kings fans? ..lets keep this rolling
[Reply]
It’s truly scary what this team will be capable of with a healthy Ryan Smyth added to this already potent lineup.
I expected the Kings to be a solid 6 or 7 seed this year, but nothing like this.
Also, Drew Doughty is the man.
[Reply]
Drew Doughty is most definitely the man
[Reply]
Lanny I am truly thinking the Kings could take the Pacific Division this year. It would be nice to see us with at least home ice in the first round.
[Reply]
i dont like the scheduling games for 8 days and i think fox said something about 10 games in 17 nights whats that about
[Reply]
yeah from Dec. 1st to the 17th we have 10 games but so far we’re 5-0-1
[Reply]
@Blake No one likes it, but it’s part of being a pro. These kinds of situations can kill or make a team.
[Reply]
TACKS…Brownie actually made a great pass on Jack Johnson’s goal..just sayin
[Reply]
-With Smyth out and our top scorers not hitting the back of the net too much, it really helps to have the 3rd and 4th contributing that much. Simmonds/Parse/Zeus looked, for the most part, a lot more controlled in both their neutral zone breakins and their offensive zone (just passing in general, too) than the top line did. Parse and Simmonds seem to have a ridiculous passing chemistry, but that may just be Simmonds’ “heads-up” mentality this year – he seems to be much more aware of what’s going on at any given moment on the ice.
-Is it just me, or has the defense contributed enormously to scoring this season, more so than last?
-I think it was Jim Fox who brought up a great point about the roster…when Smyth gets back, who do the Kings drop in terms of forwards? He seemed to break it down to one of these: Moller/Parse/Purcell…I don’t think TM would drop Purcell even though he’s struggling (I would think that TM would give him a half-season at least to prove himself), and frankly Parse and Simmonds are just playing too well together to break up. I’d guess Moller, the poor guy gets bounced between the leagues like a ping-pong ball in a clothes dryer. I’d almost prefer Ivanans, but Lord knows that TM won’t give up His Goonship anytime soon.
[Reply]
Kevin…really? Don’t you think you are getting ahead of yourself?
I love it. It’s like after the Pit game. People planning a parade and gloating over a win and not a week a later poeple wanted TM fired. Get over it. This was a win, the Kings got 2 points and that is it. Next game is next game, anything can happen. The Kings have three more games played than most of the conference. This is a long season that is less than half played.
[Reply]
what would happen if he just keeps an extra scratch every night?
[Reply]
I thought it was DD worst game of the year myself (except that shoot out goal was sweet). Him and Scuderi did not have a very good game imho.
JJ had his best game of the year. Props to him.
Kopitar looks slow and average. He looks like the weak link on that line atm. Fro had one of his better games.
Quick looks fantastic, but still gives up rebounds to dangereous parts of the ice.
Was a good move to put in that 7th defenseman, but thought that Brown and Kopitar were poor selections for the shoot out, neither played well enough to deserve it.
Kings are proving they clearly are a team that no one will want to play in the playoffs.
Got good seats to the Dallas game, so looking forward to that.
[Reply]
Cry I know I may be getting ahead of myself, but I am liking the look more and more right now… the Kings are finding ways to score and win games without a potent memeber of the offense and the rest of that line just coming up short at the moment.
A big confidence booster for the Kings right now is their play. They are without Smyth now for about a month now and have gone 7-3-1 in that stretch. They have been playing like a team possessed right now. They are proving to the league that even though you drop one of our big guns we can still beat you. They have just beaten the top 3 teams in the Western Conference, CHI, CAL, and SJ in the last 2 weeks. They have just been abusing the Pacific Division all season long (8-1-1) and it looks like there is no stopping them.
IMHO the only way to stop the Kings would be to put Quick and probably JJ or DD on the shelf for the better part of the next 2 months.
[Reply]
Yep. Doughty made some turn-overs but he bailed himself out with SO goal. Another roller coaster game but was fun to watch. Most importantly we got 2 points. Attaboy!
[Reply]
What a great game for my first trip to Staples of the year.
Quick was the reason for the two points. He should have been swapped as the first star over JMFJ.
For some reason, Doughty just doesn’t have his best games against Phoenix. I’m not saying he was bad, but his passes didn’t seem as crisp, and if he didn’t get caught jumping, Upshall wouldn’t have scored that first goal.
I was shocked Fro didn’t find the back of the net at least once. He had a lot of opportunities.
Phoenix’s defense is for real. In my opinion, Tippett will be coach of the year and not TM. LA was fortunate to get 2 points out of this, because I think Phoenix outplayed them the last 2 periods.
[Reply]
Another gutty, resilient effort… it’s amazing how the team is able to pull out a win without actually playing their best for 60 mins and how a different group of guys are chipping in goals every game. We definitely will remain in the top 4 as long as we continue to get good goaltending and balanced scoring.
I agree that it was DD’s worst game since the first game of the season(ironically against Phoenix as well). I bet he will bounce back with a tremendous effort on Saturday.
Very exciting(and nerve racking) shootout… note to team, it’s almost impossible to beat Bryzgalov 5 hole so aim high
!
[Reply]
Is it just me. or did I see a Kings D man near the point launch a really nastyfast shot at the goalie tonight? Hmmm Shades of “he who cannot be mentioned” indeed. And up in SJ, their announcer exclaimed (not a quote, but close), “Doughty leads the rush looking just like a forward!”
JJ. DD. OMFG we’re looking at the future. GKG!
(Rob who?)
[Reply]
Kevin,
Don’t tempt fate by mentioning anyone going on the shelf.
I am seeing the recent addition from manchester staying up and mostly active in the line up. Ivanans will be a Healthy scratch until we play teams with a reputation for taking cheap shots (Anahiem, etc). Greene, Simmons, or OD will likely be asked to step up if fighting is necessary.
[Reply]
Luc, I don’t intend for it to be that way, but i really do think atm the Kings are “unstoppable” against the Pacific Division. They look like they could take the Pacific Division this year and might make a deep run into the playoffs. It is only meant as what some teams might be “hoping” for.
[Reply]
DD didn’t have an amazing game, that’s for sure, but he’s definitely still the man. His worst game though was against Calgary a couple weeks back when we lost. and YES do know that he got a goal and an assist in that loss but 3 of calgary’s goals were blatantly caused by his mistakes. This is definitely the “sketchiest” i’ve seen him play since then but he did A LOT better recovering from them. Also keep in mind that he played nearly 25min in back to back games.
Hopefully tomorrow will bring some hard earned rest followed by some fresh legs beating the *&%$# out of Dallas
P.S. Am I the only kings fan stoked to see the Ducks tank thus far??
[Reply]
Wierd how the Kings and Ducks are always opposite. When one is up the other is down. It sure is making a mockery of the local media’s attempts at creating a rivalrey between the two.
OTOH, we might be seeing the beginning of a huge rivalrey between the Kings and Sharks.
[Reply]
Good job getting the gritty win. I hate shootouts for the record and had to listen to this one in the car so it was pretty nerve wracking.
Good job Quick. He’s our best hope in these shootouts. I had doubts about who TM chose in the shootout and one failed (kopi) and one scored (Zues).
[Reply]
I’ll just take credit here for predicting the score. Thank you very much…Quicker once again stands on his head.
[Reply]
Thank you wtfk, now what are your feelings about the Dallas Game. Can you please keep your streak going?
[Reply]
dan h.
I think that the way they choose who is going to do the shootout is based on the last practice drill for the shootout and who performed well. I might be wrong, not sure.
[Reply]
Now you went and did it…I’ve got a bad feeling about the next game…
I really hate to say it, but I think there will be a let down in energy. I wasn’t worried about their commitment tonight, and it played out a lot like I expected it (though I was pleased with the 2-0 start.) I think they’re going to get surprised by Dallas early, but much like this game, the team that played the night before will get tired sometime in the 2nd period.
Dallas, though, I hope will crack, like the Kings did not. I’d say the first period start is going to be important for the KIngs, but even if they don’t get it, they’ll have a shot to win in the 3rd period…
…let’s say 4-3 Kings.
[Reply]
Was it just me or did Scuderi look jittery and hesitant out there? Hate to say it but everytime he touched the puck it seems he was hesitating and didn’t know what to do with the puck? On one play he had an open shot and elected to pass and even then, he had to think about it for a second….
[Reply]
whew! thanks, looking forward to it!
[Reply]
Scuds almost looked like he was sick or something, yes i noticed it he looked a little confused.
[Reply]
@fsd1 -
It could be that he is still nursing that injury? I remember Handzus’ first season with the Kings coming off knee surgery he looked really out of it… They locked Scuderi up for 5 seasons so I really hope he stays healthy…
[Reply]
Williams plays with so much heart! He does not get enough props by the LA fans… He has looked Awesome as of late.. He is on the hustle, with the type of injuries he has had and he still puts that much speed and hustle into his game.. I’ve had the same injuries he has had and can barely walk on some days. I can appreciate the efforts he puts into every game. He is playing Awesome! Keep up the good work Justin!
